Dear Friends,
It is after much deliberation and very heavy hearts that we have decided to cancel our 10th anniversary celebration (The MOD Morgan pARTy, scheduled for March 12th) due to growing community concern about the spread of the Coronavirus, COVID-19.
The safety and wellbeing of our guests is of utmost importance. While we are incredibly sad to cancel this important milestone and fun event, we ultimately feel a responsibility not to expose our guests to unnecessary risk.
After over a year of planning, we never could have imagined this outcome and share in your disappointment. If you purchased a ticket and would like a full or partial refund, please feel free to contact us.
All of this said, we hope you will still support our important work in arts education and consider your ticket purchase as a donation.
All such contributions will now be
100% tax-deductible
, and each ticket donation will count as a raffle entry to win an original Maud Morgan screenprint.
We hope to find another way to celebrate our 10th anniversary with you at some point in the future.
Disappointing news aside, we are still extremely proud of the progress we’ve made in our first 10 years as an arts center, and are even more excited about the next 10. The theme of this event was to celebrate the spirit of Maud Morgan and the importance of art and arts education. What makes our work especially important is our dedication and commitment to increasing access to the arts for those in our community who wouldn’t otherwise have these impactful creative learning opportunities. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support as we continue to find new ways to open the doors of Maud Morgan Arts to more children, teens, and adults.
Although we will not gather in person on Thursday, there are still ways to celebrate and support our work digitally. Event Committee member Diane Norris graciously organized a fantastic silent auction celebrating Maud’s life which will continue online through the end of next week. We will send an announcement tomorrow sharing updated auction guidelines. You can still participate in our costume contest on Instagram by tagging us in pictures of your 60s style outfit. We also have a digital show of Maud Morgan’s prints on our website, and are working to plan a future exhibition of these artworks to honor Maud’s legacy.
We thank everyone for their continued support, generosity, and understanding.
With our sincerest apologies and utmost gratitude,
