A GOOD NAME

Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.”

The Amplified Bible reads, “A good name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; and favor is better than silver and gold.”

As a boy, Jesus found favor with both man and God. [Luke 2:52] Favor did not start as an adult with Jesus. He was taught by his parents the things of God as a child, and because of this, he gained favor with mankind and with his heavenly Father.

Having wealth does not show success in the Kingdom of God. We can be prosperous by the world’s standards, but have a name that is rejected by God because we sought after the things of the world instead seeking after Him and His righteousness.

A good name comes from making a stand for righteousness. It does not bend when tempted, and carries godly wisdom from hours of studying the Word of God and spending time in prayer.

If you have a good name with God, you will reflect Him through your life. You will know Him intimately, and are only satisfied with your life when you know he is pleased with what you have become by following Him.

Seek after a godly good name, and you will please God.

For this is not the hour for you to question whether you hear from me or not, for I would say that you do hear, and you have pondered as to whether it was me, but it is me. I have been speaking to you in the night hours while you have cried out but often you do not hear my voice. I would say that this is the hour to be activated for you have held back when I have said there was a green light. You have been in neutral when I said the light was green. Though none will go with you, I would say, it is your call, your vision, and your hour to be activated. Do not depend upon those around you to confirm what I have called you to do, for they would often discourage you and say it isn’t possible for you to do what you have been called to do, but even as I called the prophets of old that were common men and women, I would say it was not in their own strength that they went forth. They totally, and completely had to focus on my voice. They went forward not knowing what to expect. There were the Abraham’s and the Isaac’s and the Moses’s but today there is you. You have been equipped for such a time as this. Do not try to do what I have asked you to do in your own strength for you would fail. You have come to the Red Sea and see it as an obstacle for you to not go forward, but it is not an obstacle my child. It is an opportunity for me to get the glory. For I will not share my glory with anyone. It will be me that leads, and me that guides, and it will be me that will get the glory. So, rise up, and shake off the dust of those that have tried to hinder you and be what I have called you to be. This is your hour for my glory to rest upon you. You shall go forward and if you do not look back you shall see doors open that no man can shut, and doors shut that no man can open. Do not depend upon the arm of the flesh for it will fail you. Depend upon me saith the Lord, for I am with you. This is your hour to rise and shine saith the Lord.

Monday Thought For Today

If you are a parent you understand the importance of repetition in teaching your child. As I thought about that I thought about how God as our Father has done the same thing for us. He repeats over and over those things He knows we need to learn and understand. One example is the numerous times He says ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you. How about “You are mine. You did not choose but I chose you.”

So today think about the many times you heard God whisper to your heart. Did you accept it? Believe what He said? Ask Him to repeat what He said to you if you have forgotten. He is waiting!

“Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.””

You must never stop working on that plan you have; All because you're not seeing any PROGRESS...For we know God will often hide His PROVISIONS in plain sight. We read in Genesis 22:13 of how HE strategically placed a RAM on the MOUNTAIN...Just before He asked Abraham to SACRIFICE his son Isaac. Remember God also HID Esther in the PALACE just in time; As it was right before Haman issued a death decree. Then Joseph was put in a JAIL that just happened to be near the PALACE...And he ended up being PROMOTED. Let's not forget it was Noah who BUILT an ARK that would save his family and even a few animals. Yes, sometimes we get so deep into God's PLANS; Until we fail to DISCERN that our story is part of God's big PICTURE and PROVISION. Just remember God always has a secret weapon for another one of His big PLANS coming up; And at times He is gracious enough to include you and I in on the big STORY of it all. So trust God with that PLAN of yours; For He just may already be tweaking it for you on His big drawing board of Heaven.

Some people do not like you because you see too much that they want to keep hidden. Keep on discerning and being led by the Spirit, even if you are without friendships or relationships for a season. God is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother. Wrong relationships will affect your life in every way. Even your relationship with God can be hindered.
