WEARYING THE LORD

Malachi 2:17 says, “Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, ‘Wherein have we wearied him?’ when ye say, ‘Every one that doeth evil [sin] is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delighteth in them.’ Or ‘where is the God of judgment [of evil]?’”

This tells us that God wearies [gets sick and tired] of us calling evil as being good and delightful to Him. You might ask how we, His church, call evil good and pleasing to Him. Is that what some of today’s church denominations are doing?

You might ask me, “How is that?” Let me give you one example. There are several church denominations that accept homosexual practices as being acceptable to God and man. That goes directly against the bible, because God calls these practices evil. Some of these denominations even ordain those that practice this sin as pastors and ministry leaders. This is not only contradictory to the bible, but it also is like spitting in God’s face. It wearies Him and grieves Him that those that do those are calling evil good.  

I believe we also weary God when we keep repeating the same sin over and over. We repent each time, then we do it again. We might not be calling that sin good, but it wearies Him in that we do not really change. True and lasting repentance requires change. We weary the LORD with our empty words of repentance, while in our heart we do not change. Nevertheless, when we truly repent, he still forgives us because He is faithful to do that.

God is patient with us even if it wearies Him. His mercy is never ending; it knows no limit. Without that mercy, we would be harshly judged and chastised. We are spared because He loves us so much. Praise God for His limitless grace and mercy.

THE KEY

If I were to ask you what a key was, I am sure that anyone old enough to use a key would say that it is something you lock or unlock with.

In Isaiah 22:2 there is some insight about a key. It is a prophetic verse. It says, “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” This is a prophesy about Jesus Christ, the coming Messiah.

We know that David was the king of Israel, and his throne will never end. A king controls his kingdom in many ways, and he holds the key to enter it and lock it.  

In Matthew 16:19 Jesus was speaking to Peter and said, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Then again, Jesus was speaking to the apostle John in Revelation 3:7-8 regarding the church at Philadelphia and said, “And to the angel [pastor] of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door [an unlocked door], and no man can shut it.”

At salvation, we are adopted into the family of Christ, who is the offspring of King David, and the key holder. The key to the kingdom of heaven, comes to us through Jesus Christ. He gives us a legal right as an heir and joint heir with Him to use that key. The key opens doors for us that no man can shut. It shuts doors that are not good for us that no man can open.

What is that key? It is the word of God. The word of God is a sword, but it is also a lamp, and a key. It holds all the mysteries of God, revealed to us as we study it. It gives us the key to health. It is the key to being an overcomer. It is the key to know God’s will for your life. Everything we need is contained in the word of God. It is the key and at the same time, it holds the key. 

When we learn how to use that key, [the word of God] we then open doors that no man can shut and shut doors that no man can open. Use the key wisely and you cannot fail.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Just know that RESENTMENT comes from looking at other people; But CONTENTMENT comes from looking at GOD. So learn to be CONTENT with what you already HAVE; And ask God to give you MORE when He KNOWS you can HANDLE it…NOT a minute BEFORE. “Godliness with contentment is great gain". (I Timothy 6:6) Then Philippians 4: 11b tells us the following…”I have learned in whatever situation I am in to be content". Now get ready to have a blessed day as you prepare yourself for church; And be sure to give God praise for all He has done for you.

Passing through. Don’t you care how you behave?

Don’t you care in what you do? You better think

Again, for Eternity is very near. If you do not come

To Christ, you will not be there. Come and give

Your Heart to the one who loves you most.

To the one who hung and died, and our

Forgiveness, our only hope. What a wonderful

Savior we have who shows his love this way.

To die and suffer greatly: the blood, the nails,

His body on display. Dear and blessed Savior,

Bring this World to you. We need your love and
