THE CINDERELLA SYNDROME
________________
Have you ever felt that you just “don’t fit in” with most of those around you? Have you been in a group of people but just aren’t on the same “wavelength?” Well, don’t feel alone, because most of us feel the same way.
It could be that you have the Cinderella Syndrome. What is that you might ask? Well, Cinderella’s shoe only fit her. Try as they might, her sisters and others could not fit into the shoe Cinderella had left behind. Trying to fit in someone else’s shoes just does not work. But one day the Prince found Cinderella; put her shoe on her foot, and it was a perfect fit.
You see, my friends you were created to be the way you are intentionally. Only you have your unique fingerprint. You are “one of a kind” hand-designed by God. Just like a puzzle that has no pieces alike, God has done that with his creation. No one is truly identical. Yet, we are all created in God’s image. That means that we are all a part of the “bigger picture” which is the complete body of Christ.
Do not try to fit in where God did not design you to be. It is okay to be the unique, beautiful creation that God made. He will show you what part of His body is the right fit for you.
1 Corinthians 12:12-31 has a lot to say about each of us. Verse 12 says, “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being MANY, are ONE BODY: so also is Christ.”
We are all different parts of the body of Christ, but each of us is unique. Together we become one body, that God joins together. [Ephesians 4:16.] God created you to be YOU! Enjoy being you. Do not live with the Cinderella Syndrome trying to be or fit in where you don’t belong. Find your place in Christ!
