BLESSED ARE THE PERSECUTED

______________________

Bible verses are often taken out of context and misapplied to mean something other than what the scripture intended. To give an example, I will use two verses on persecution from the Beatitudes in Matthew 5.

Matthew 5:10, “blessed are they which are persecuted…”

Matthew 5:11, “Blessed are you when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil [lies] against you…”

If those words are to be taken only as written here, it could be interpreted that all people worldwide who are persecuted or downtrodden will be blessed regardless of any reason. That might include non-believers, atheists, false religious groups, or anybody, regardless of their beliefs. It could even mean Christians that make stupid mistakes or statements would be blessed, even if they brought it upon themselves.

However, that is not what the above scriptures are saying if you read it in context. A more complete reading of the entire verse reveals the true meaning.

Matthew 5:10 as above continues with “persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:11 continues with “…for my sake [Jesus].”

The blessings Jesus speaks of are specifically given to those who take a stand for Jesus and His righteousness, not for just persecutions in general. What blessing are we then promised? We are promised our place to be secured in the kingdom of heaven [verse 10].

Jesus told us that we must expect persecution as his followers. He will strengthen us to endure these persecutions, lies against us, backbitings, even beatings that come against us. He will reward us as we stand faithful to him through all circumstances.

Never let down your trust upon Him. He alone is faithful to uphold you and reward his own.

COUNTING THE COST

____________________

When most young people graduate from high school, they have either a plan to go on to higher education or to go to work immediately. Those that go on to college and pursue a career often sacrifice to do this. It takes many years of study to become a doctor, and much sacrifice not only in school, but in their personal lives if they are to succeed. Many have taken out student loans to pursue what they believe to be the path they should take. Often, they do not realize the true cost of their dreams. It takes some students many years to pay off student loans and their debt to reach their goals.

Then there are those that make a determination to be what some would call, “in full-time-ministry.” What is meant by this is that they know they have a “call” on their lives to serve Christ in one of the five-fold positions. They feel the tug at their heart and know that God is calling them to this. Many leave their homes to become missionaries overseas.

I have seen young men desire to become Pastors, and they attend seminary to become what they believe God has called them to. Many don’t understand what it will take to become ordained by some denominations. Yet, they are willing to pay the price for the Lord.

The Apostle Paul was one such young man. He had been taught under one of the most gifted men of his day, Gamaliel, in the things of God. He knew scripture, yet he did not understand about a “suffering” messiah. He had a zeal for religious things, yet without knowledge until one day he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. His entire purpose for living was turned upside down. He went from persecutor of Christians to a protector of the faith in just a few short minutes. He was told by the Lord how much he would suffer to follow Jesus. (Acts 9:16.)

The suffering side of Christianity is rarely spoken about. We hear many messages preached by Pastor and Prophet, Apostle, Evangelist, and Teacher about how God wants to prosper us, and that when we are obedient, we will eat the good of the land.

Just like the college student going after a career has a rude awakening when there are sleepless nights trying to study, and often times of financial hardship, so it is with a Christian that has sold out to Jesus, but they are willing to count the cost.

The suffering includes losing friends that don’t agree with you. It means spending hours seeking answers in the Word of God and knowing you must do this to accomplish what God has called you to do. It is putting your flesh to death when it yearns to be like others, but God says no, you have a higher purpose. It is going without at times just to bring the gospel to those that no one wants to go to. You know the ones, the street people, the homeless, the ones that are the “unacceptables” of society. Yet, they know someone must do it.

It is when those in your own family mock you and turn against you, but in spite of their opposition, you know you must walk with God because he will always be there. It is the lonely life, often without many friends because most don’t understand why you would sacrifice so much, and even Christians mock you and try to persuade you to not be so radical.

The suffering side of Christianity? Yes, my friends. It is a requirement to fulfill your destiny. It tells in 2 Timothy 3:10-11 of the advice that Paul gave young Timothy, “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.” Even though Paul had been tortured, dead, shipwrecked and more, God was faithful.

Then in verse 12, Paul sums it up. “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” All? Yes, all. That is the price we pay when we sell out to God. Most never do this. They don’t witness, and they don’t give of their time and money to get the gospel to the lost. They may give money for someone else to go, but they don’t want to “get their hands dirty” by going themselves.

Sadly, one day each of us will have to stand before God and give an account of what He has given us. Some will lose reward because they gained nothing for the kingdom of God. Others will hear, “…Well done, thou good and faithful servant….” (Matthew 25:23a). Paul was a servant, determined to do all he could for Jesus. We should all have that same servant’s heart that he had. If we did, we could have taken the world for Jesus, but sadly few do. I pray that you are one of the ones that does because you have counted the cost and laid down your plans for God’s plans.

PROPHETIC WORD

AS GIVEN TO HELEN SANDERS

There is a stirring, there is a stirring saith the Lord. For I am stirring things up like they have never been stirred before. Oh, you would say, why is this happening Lord? And where are you Lord? But I would have you know that I am in the stirring. I am stirring nation against nation, father against son, mother against daughter. I am in this stirring, for it must happen saith the Lord. For you shall see kingdoms fall and you shall see kingdoms rise up in their own power and strength be defeated, for it has to happen. The stirring will bring about many changes in the lives of those living today saith the Lord, for I am not only stirring up those that walk in darkness and will receive their just reward, but I am also stirring up the hearts of my children to stand and go forth and be what they have been called to be. You no longer have to reach out for the scepter saith the Lord, for I will hear your cry and go forth with you into battle, and you shall see a shift, a shift in the pathway that has been blocked.  For I am going before you to remove those hindrances that have caused you not to go forward. You have been tested in the fire and have been proven faithful, and you shall see a shift, yes, a shift in all that you put your hand to. You shall be as Moses when he put his foot in the water and the sea was divided so he could go forth. When there has been no way for you, you shall see the Waymaker make a clear path for you to advance. For I know what you will do as you advance. You will stand strong and see the enemies of your soul defeated. The hours that you have spent in prayer and reverence with me have not been wasted my child, for in those hours I heard your cry and was making a plan that would not fail for you. You shall see much violence in the days ahead but listen not to the violence. For I am in the stirring up of what is happening. It must happen to separate the sheep from the goats. For soon, my child you shall see my mighty hand of deliverance and you shall see the enemy cut off and you shall see that I am a God of justice and a God of mercy. For yea, saith the Lord, it is no surprise that things are happening the way they are, because it is I saith the Lord that am stirring people up. The darkness shall grow greater and greater, but your light shall shine in this hour and the glory that I put upon your head shall shine and bring such as I will out of darkness. Do not consider the things that are happening as not being understood by me, for I am doing what I have always done. I will cause the captivity of many to be unloosed as I have done in the past, and you shall see the justice hammer come down on those that kept my children in bondage. For yes, the stirring shall be like a swift river overflowing its banks going forth and bringing justice yet bringing mercy. It shall happen and you shall see it. Fear not as you see these things come upon the face of the earth, for it is I that is stirring up these things saith the Lord.

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

3-10-2024

You don’t ever want to get DISTRACTED; While waiting on the PLAN and PURPOSE of God for your life. Just remember that all DISTRACTIONS can and usually does cause DISPLACEMENT. DISPLACEMENT will cause DISAPPOINTMENT…DISAPPOINTMENT causes DEPRESSION…And DEPRESSION most always causes the REAL you to totally DISAPPEAR. That, my friend is exactly what Satan wants; As he really wants you and everything God created you to be and do to DISAPPEAR from your life...And then you would miss out on your God DREAM and your DESTINY altogether. So don’t get caught up with the enemy’s games and lose WHO and WHAT God called you to be.

DEBRA TOPE

INTERCESSOR/SEER

Thought For The Day

”Lord, you poured out blessings on Your land! You restored the fortunes of Israel. You forgave the guilt of Your people— yes, You covered all their sins. Interlude

You held back Your fury. You kept back Your blazing anger. Now restore us again, O God of our salvation. Put aside Your anger against us once more. Will You be angry with us always? Will You prolong Your wrath to all generations? Won’t You revive us again, so Your people can rejoice in You? Show us Your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us Your salvation. I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for He speaks peace to His faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, so our land will be filled with His glory.“ ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭85‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

No one knows the time or hour of God’s judgement to begin. He has been calling His people to repent and turn from their sins. And yet America has not done so.

His message has not changed. Repent and seek Him while you are still able. Our God is a loving God, full of mercy and grace but we have forgotten who He is. Humble yourself and pray and let Him reveal Himself to you. Seek Him while He may be found.
