PRAYING IN TONGUES – LESSON 8

FALSE TEACHINGS AND BELIEFS – PART 4

There is a false belief that I have often heard people say in regards to the baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues.

It comes from people who have never experienced it. They frequently (but not always) are in a church that does not accept it. The person does not necessarily reject its validity, but they offer a statement to validate their lack of the experience.

They say, “If God wanted me to have it, He would have given it to me.” They feel this excuse or reasoning let’s them “off the hook” in any discussion about it. The fallacy with this is that God is not going to force anything on you that you do not desire. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and will not invade your space involuntarily. It says we must ask for it. In Luke 11:11-13 it says, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ASK HIM?”

Many people are content where they are and have no desire for more of God in their life. Holy Spirit is the Spirit from the Father sent to us by Jesus. It is through Holy Spirit that we have “more of God” in us.

It is by the power from Holy Spirit that we can do the works of Jesus. Jesus said in Acts 14:12, “The works that I do shall (you) do also, and (even) greater works than these shall (you) do.” It is b y the anointing and power of the Holy Ghost that we are able to do those works. Those who have not been baptized in the Holy Ghost are in a weaker position for doing His mighty and miraculous works. In Acts 1:8 Jesus specifically said this was an act of receiving power, not just tongues only.

You must desire the greater infilling from God so you can be an effective servant in His kingdom. If you do not desire that, you will not receive it.

We should always have a heart to desire more of Him in our lives.

THE ARMOUR OF GOD PART 4

THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Today we continue our teaching on the armour of God with the second part of Ephesians 6:14 where it says, “… and having on the breastplate of righteousness.” The breastplate covers the heart, where the Spirit of God lives. We receive salvation by grace and the Holy Spirit brings us the righteousness of Christ into our hearts (spirits). In II Corinthians 5:21 it says, “For he (God the Father) hath made him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

When we are born again, we are placed into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. There is a great transfer when this happens. Our sins are put on Jesus, and His righteousness is put on us. He knew no sin and we did. He took our sin, and we received his robe of righteousness.

In Isaiah 61:10 it says, “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD (Jehovah or Yahweh), my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”

Think of it my friends. God looks at us as one of his jewels. He adorns himself with “us,” his jewels. In Malachi 3:17 it says, “And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels, and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.” God spared not his own son, but he spared us.

As we wear the breastplate of righteousness, we must always keep in mind that it is Jesus that we are wearing over and in our heart. He is the breastplate of righteousness. We should walk tall, knowing that God is our breastplate that wards off the darts of the evil one. Oh, the glory to be covered with His robe of righteousness.

For now is the hour saith the Lord. Now is the hour to listen more than you have ever listened. For there are many voices speaking and many are leaning unto their own understanding. Yes, there is much confusion in the air, and only those that hear and listen to my voice will be led in the path that is a sure path. For there are many voices speaking this day that would be contrary one to the other. Have I not said to trust in me from your inner being and lean not unto the voice of the mind saith the Lord. For the mind is easily swayed by the voices that are speaking peace and safety, while the voice of the spirit would say come to me and find rest. For yes there is a wind blowing that will usher in many things saith the Lord. There is destruction and judgment in the wind, but I would say that it has to come to satisfy the payment for sin. My judgment will bring about a turning, yes, a turning back to me. There is an hour very soon that this will happen, for I would say don’t look with your natural eye, for there are forces that are beyond your comprehension at work even in this hour. I am adjusting the wind to bring exactly what is necessary to bring your nation to its knees. Yes, that is where it must come. That is where it will cry out to me and receive forgivenesss. Do not pray against this wind saith the Lord, for you would be fighting me. I am in this wind and it shall surely blow. Many things will topple through the blowing of this wind, for only those that are anchored in the solid rock can withstand this wind. It is blowing hard, and it will produce what I will it to produce. So my child hide yourself in the cleft of the rock, knowing that there is safety there. Hide yourself in me and know that peace is there. Hide yourself in the arms of the ancient of days. Embrace me for I will carry you through this time, but I would say do not fear, for this is all part of my plan. There will be great cities fall in one hour. The sin of those cities has come into my nostrils and has caused me to say, you think you can stand in this sin? I would say, I will bring you to your knees. I will have the final word, and justice shall be served. I would say there are mountains that will fall down and many lives will be destroyed, and you would say surely we are safe in the mountains, but they shall melt in one hour and the safety will be gone. There is only safety in me saith the Lord. Many would rise himself up and say nothing can touch me, but I will bring him down in one hour saith the Lord, for I have the last word. Yes, my children, the time of justice is at hand, so spend time with me to hear what I would say and know that of a certainty that in me you will find your safety. There will be great loss soon, but those that spend time with me will be spared saith the Lord.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

God's presence in our lives is the life preserver that keeps us from sinking in a sea full of trouble. Inevitably, problems and heartaches shows up in all of our lives. Whether it’s a bad medical report, financial problems, relationship problems, closed doors; And the list goes on. However, you have one or two options; You can forge on alone, in great distress and continue to make wrong decisions; Or you can turn it all over to God and be at peace. I’m sure you know that trying to fly solo in the face of adversity is never a good idea. In fact, it can be disastrous to you and to those you love and care about. If you remember the Israelites were known to do this on a frequent basis; But in the face of utter defeat God always sent them a way out. Even in today’s time some folks would do the same thing and they’d take advantage of the deliverer and their deliverance. However, I’m

sure that many would choose to try the solo route; Alone and...Without God. We read in Numbers 14: 9 how on the other hand Joshua and Caleb stood up and opted to turn to the Lord Jesus. “Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us. They have no protection, but the Lord is with us. Don’t be afraid of them”. Now perhaps you should ask your own self the question...If giants of adversity show up in your life...What will you do? Will you react as Joshua and Caleb did; Or will you grumble and complain like the others saying, “We should’ve stayed where we were; Now we don’t know what’s gonna happen to us here in this place”. Just determine in your heart today to trust God and follow Him as He leads you into new places with new faces...All for your good and for His glory. Have a blessed day.
