THE FALL FEASTS LESSON 7
THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES – PART 3
SUKKOT - PART 3 - BOOTHS
____________________
The Feast of Tabernacles is called Sukkot, a word that means booth or hut. It is also called the Feast of Rejoicing because Israel rejoiced in the fact that God had “tabernacled” (dwelt) among them in the Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle of the Congregation (as it was called). The Ark of the Covenant dwelt in the Holy of Holies where God’s presence abode with them. This was cause for the rejoicing.
The Jews literally feasted on the fruit and produce of the land during this celebration which also coincided with the fall harvest. The last day of the feast was another holy convocation, a sabbath, called together by the blowing of the ram’s horns (shofar).
They lived in these sukkots (booths) the entire seven days of the feast, ending on the holy convocation of the eighth day.
The booths are made of the branches from citron (not the same as our citron melon), palms, myrtle, and willow. Today these four are called “the four spices.” Each one carries its own special significance. A certain “prayer of blessing” is recited for each one of these four tree branches, thus blessing the sukkot and its people.
Tomorrow we will look at the special and unique significance of each one of these “four spices.”

TEMPERED STEEL
____________________
When you speak of faith what comes to your mind? Someone that has a “healing ministry”? Maybe a little woman that prays and mountains are moved. Perhaps it is a little child that prays and God answers in a way that is beyond explanation.
Whatever your definition is, the Word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6a) In I Peter 1:6-7 it says, “Who are kept (protected or guarded) by the power of God through (your) faith until salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: (trials)That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”
Our faith is put to the test, my friends. It is like steel. For steel to be strong it must be put into the fire over and over, then pounded (tempered) it to make it strong and usable. Tempering changes the steel from being hard to being tough and not brittle. Without the fire and the tempering, it would break. Think of a sword used in battle. If it wasn’t tempered in the fire, it would break the first time it was used in a sword fight. Likewise, God tempers us through fiery trials that make us stronger and stronger.
Not much is taught about the trials we go through. Most of the time when they come people rebuke them and command them to leave, not knowing that making it through the trial makes us stronger. No one likes trials, me included, but they are absolutely necessary to perfect and temper us. Without the fire, we remain weak, hard, immature, and unable to get the victory in our lives. The fires make us tough!
We must yield to the fire, knowing that your faith is being developed. It may be a small fire like someone taking your parking place. It may be a bigger fire when someone else is promoted and you are the most qualified. How we react shows the strength of our “tempered steel.” Don’t be the one that breaks because you didn’t permit the fire to temper you. We want our lives to be found worthy of praise by Jesus when he returns.

PROPHETIC WORD
I'm hearing the shaking and fiery trials shall intensify. My people aren't listening. They haven't prepared. There will be many suddenlies. Sudden weather patterns bringing violent weather that will be unprecedented. Sudden moves, sudden deaths, sudden acceleration. Listen, listen, listen, for the days ahead will be filled with gross darkness but as for those that listen and are willing and obedient they will rise and shine. Let his glory come upon you and through your obedience lives will be changed. No fear! God will be with you through it, if you seek him first and his kingdom and righteousness. Again, no fear. Let faith be your shield!

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY
PROPHETIC EXHORTATION
Now don’t you be discouraged by this opposition you’ve been experiencing; For it could be a sign that God is shifting some people and some things around. In fact, He’s even moving some of them totally out and away from your life. You may want to bump up your time spent in God’s presence; And especially during this time of opposition you’re having. As you do this it allows God to better do His work in you and through you. Just remember that it’s a new day; Make the very best of it…For some folks won't get that opportunity you know. So take advantage of doing it while you still can. Just know that I’m praying for you and I’m speaking positive decrees to Jesus and into the atmosphere regarding you; And I especially pray that your faith will NOT fail you during this deep valley of despair, opposition and indecision. However, in the meantime, keep your head UP, your eyes OFF the problem and PUT them ON Jesus and begin to; Give God some praise for bringing you this far on your journey to blessings, freedom, transition, definite decisions and the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding.

Monday Thought For Today
There are so many stories from the Bible that we know but when was the last time you opened your Bible and read them?
Example: the story of Noah
“This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.” Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.”
Genesis 6:9-15, 18-22 NKJV
To find out how this story ends, go to Genesis 7:1-8:14.

The Falling Leaves HCC
Have you looked around lately?
Autumn is here!
The colors so beautiful,
The Earth shouts with cheer.
Where do you see this beautiful sunset?
All in the trees, orange, yellow and red.
It makes me so happy to see leaves ablaze.
They seem all on fire, no burning is made.
The deer all are running,
Through leaves as they go.
They're all getting ready,
Soon, Christmas and snow.
Thank you, dear Lord, for the color of each day.
Whether Spring or Summer,
Fall or Winter, a gift from you,
To brighten up my day.
