We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

YOUR LABOUR IS NOT IN VAIN

In the United States we celebrate labor day in recognition of the works and contributions of laborers in the development and their achievements in the United States. It became an official federal holiday in 1894.

Worldly work and labor are not bad, because we work for giving, not just for a living. But there is another kind of labor that is much better and rarely acknowledged. It is the labor that we, as Christians do in following and working for Jesus Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 3:9 it says, “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.”  Together, we are building God’s kingdom, one soul at a time through our witness and labour [work] in the kingdom.

We are building [laboring] the kingdom of God when we share the gospel with others. John 6:27 tells us, “Labour not for the meat [food] which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”

Then, we can be certain that what we do for Jesus is not in vain.  1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

We may celebrate Labor Day today, but you can be sure that the earthly works are temporal. There is a day coming when we meet Jesus and will be rewarded for what we have done with our labour in the Lord. Every seed you have sown, every little deed done for Jesus is eternal and will last forever! It is not in vain what you have done for the Lord! Do not lose hope.
