10 Warnings Clients Would Give Their Younger Selves About Long-Term Care
For years, low interest rates and strict regulations discouraged discussions around long-term care (LTC) planning, but the need has never gone away. Nationwide recently surveyed 1,324 Americans ages 29+ with household incomes of $75,000+ to understand current views on retirement and LTC planning.
When asked what advice older participants (59+) would give their younger selves, many emphasized the importance of preparing early for future care needs–a reminder that time passes quickly, and planning ahead is essential.
Explore Nationwide’s full survey results to see the top LTC planning lessons today’s retirees would share with their younger selves.

Disconnect Between Consumer And Advisor Perceptions In Social Security Planning | |
Social Security is central to retirement planning, and guidance from advisors on when and how to claim benefits can significantly boost clients’ financial security. Research shows that effective Social Security planning encourages clients to save more, seek additional income strategies, and engage in deeper retirement discussions with both advisors and family.
Protective and Greenwald Research surveyed 1,000 consumers and 500 advisors to identify the best timing and key considerations for starting these conversations.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
How to Convert MedicareCENTER to LifeCENTER
As MedicareCENTER (or sometimes LifeCENTER, as we’re about to learn) develops, so do its features. This week, we want to talk about a new feature that allows MedicareCENTER to be rebranded for our Life and Annuity agents to LifeCENTER, how you can make this change, and/or how to reverse it for your login.
Starting in August of this year, if you do not sell Medicare products, Integrity will begin removing Medicare quoting features to declutter your dashboard and rebrand to LifeCENTER. This rollout will be gradual, but if you have not sold a Medicare product in MedicareCENTER in a while, there’s a chance that this could impact you. Thankfully, this is as simple as turning the feature back on in your Agent Profile.
Click the button below for instructions on how to retain the Medicare products in your account.

2026 Medicare Product Certification Now Available
The 2026 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) Medicare product certification is now available via Pinpoint Global, which is the Blue Cross’ training platform.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires Blue Cross and all other Medicare plan sponsors to provide annual training and knowledge testing specific to Medicare program rules, regulations, marketing, and sales practices, as well as product-specific training.
THE TRAINING REQUIREMENT INCLUDES TWO COMPONENTS:
- Medicare + Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training
- Carrier-specific Medicare product training
All agents who intend to sell or service Medicare plans for the 2026 plan year must successfully complete both parts to be considered Medicare certified.
Blue Cross agents have two options available to them to fulfill both components of the 2026 Medicare certification requirements.

HR Question of the Week:
Setting Professional Goals
Q: How can we help our employees write professional goals that are meaningful and motivating to them? Some of our employees don’t know where to begin.
A: Getting started can be the hardest part of setting professional goals, especially for employees who haven’t thought about it before or don’t see any value in it.
Here are a few ways you can help your employees create and feel connected to their professional goals:
- Share upcoming projects, team priorities, or company goals with employees. Ask them to envision how they could contribute to these efforts in specific, measurable ways.
- Encourage employees to think in terms of the results they’d like to achieve or where they have room to improve. Goal completion can be measured by improved accuracy, faster response times, reduced rework, or higher customer satisfaction scores.
- Ask employees what skills they’d like to develop or what kind of work they’d like to try. Then look for ways to tie that interest back to their current role. For example, if an employee expressed interest in improving their communication skills, you might look at ways to incorporate that learning in their current job duties (e.g., provide additional opportunities to present at meetings).
- Tell employees that you will reward success (if you can follow through). Ultimately, professional goals will only be meaningful and motivating if they result in a good outcome for the employee. Many companies tie bonuses and promotions to successful goal completion.
- Remind employees that while professional goals are a tool to help them contribute effectively and ultimately grow in their career, working towards these goals can have immediate benefits. They can reduce day-to-day frustrations, make routine tasks easier, improve both individual and team performance, and result in other benefits.
