Help Shape Airdrie’s Future – Join the Design Guidelines Workshop!
Builders/Developers/Consultants,
As a key player in Airdrie’s growth and development, your expertise and perspective are invaluable. We’re excited to invite you to a hands-on workshop focused on shaping the City-Wide Design Guidelines for Airdrie. This is a unique opportunity to help define the standards that will guide future development across the city.
On February 5, 2025, (1pm to 4pm), the project team, along with our consultants from Bluerock Planning, will lead an engaging session where we’ll work together to craft practical, forward-thinking design guidelines. These guidelines will help streamline development applications, providing clear expectations and reducing the time spent on revisions. They will cover areas including:
-
Architecture & Building Design
-
Public Realm Elements (roads, rights-of-way, streetscapes)
-
Commercial & Industrial Development
-
Multi-unit Residential Projects (buildings and site design)
High-quality, well-designed neighborhoods do more than just create great places to live—they add significant value for builders and developers. By creating attractive, desirable communities, we help ensure that developments are in demand, building long-term value that compounds over time. Thoughtful design creates spaces where people want to live, work, and play, leading to greater market appeal and sustainable growth.
By aligning future projects with these guidelines from the start, we can make the development process more efficient and effective for everyone involved, while maintaining Airdrie’s vision for vibrant, thriving communities.
We value your input in this collaborative effort. Your feedback will directly shape the direction of these guidelines and help create a framework that supports high-quality, sustainable development.
Please RSVP by contacting Samina Tuli at Samina.Tuli@airdrie.ca. We look forward to working together to build a bright future for Airdrie!

Ladybug Arborists
With almost 30 years experience in Southern Alberta, Maureen and her team strive to preserve trees for their clients and future generations. As Certified Arborists, they offer ornamental tree and shrub care, diagnostic services, tree health care solutions, tree selection and planting, garden care and consumer education and workshops. They also offer tree pruning, removal, and much more.
The Right Tree in the Right Place to suit the function and location can reduce costs and maintenance demands. They believe in training trees like kids – start early. Decisions made during the first 10 years can resolve structural deficiencies before they become liabilities.
Ladybug Arborists specialize in tree owner education. They assess your site, making recommendations for pro-active maintenance practices. By adjusting some of the practices, such as watering volumes and frequency, mulching, etc., it adds to the enjoyment and tree health. They offer one-on-one hands-on consulting to help you learn what to do, how and when to care for your precious green assets.
Ladybug Arborists have a long history of community engagement by volunteering their time to a wide range of organizations. Projects include startup of the Birds of Prey Arboretum, planting for Tree Canada, pruning trees at Community Gardens, caring for trees at non-profit sites, grant writing, donating mulch or heritage tree research. They love helping their community tree canopy grow.
If you are part of a school, association, garden club, neighbourhood group or just someone wanting a talk on trees or plants, to learn about tree care, or need their expertise, please reach out to see how they can help.
