Canadian Chamber of Commerce Congratulates Newly Elected Prime Minister Mark Carney

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce extends its congratulations to Mark Carney on his election as Canada’s Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Carney steps into office at a critical and highly uncertain time for our country and the world. With Canadians feeling the pressure of rising costs and a disrupted trade relationship with the U.S.

We said it when the election was called and we’ll say it again now because it’s just as true and even more urgent: the livelihoods of Canadians depend on how we navigate this crisis with the U.S., how we address our economic challenges, and how we support Canadian business. Now, more than ever, we need our leaders to act with urgency.

That means pairing strategy with real action:

➡️ Delivering on the promise of free internal trade

➡️ Lower taxation and cut business red tape

➡️ Committing to long-term investment in infrastructure

It is time to go all-in and shift our paradigm.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber Network are ready to work with Prime Minister Carney and the federal government to build a Canada of thriving business opportunity and a better life for all.

All Things Pretty Market

The All Things Pretty (ATP) Market was created by two friends who were looking for unique markets to attend with their own businesses and realized there weren't any that got them really excited.

Lauren Cowles and Collette Bell were on a mission to create their own. The first market was held in May of 2014 and they quickly found out that Red Deer and area were also really excited for a unique market experience and one-of-a-kind vendors.

Sam and Tessa are the newest proprietors and curators of the All Things Pretty Market. The two met in 2017 when by chance at an ATP Market they were neighbors with their own businesses. One Crafty Mother and Dev & Daws. From there, their two paths overlapped at various events creating a fantastic market friendship! When the ATP Market became available, the two quickly decided it was the next step in their professional careers. With the craziness of 2020, including the cancellation of markets, they tried a few great and fun ideas! This included "pretty parcels" and the opening of their very first retail location in the CrossIron Mills Mall, which has now been relocated to #8, 620 - 1st Ave NW, in Airdrie.

ATP carries a variety of pretty items including those created and crafted by other chamber members. We invite you to stop in sometime and have a look. You never know what you might find!

P.S. Mother's Day is coming soon!
