Welcome Back To
Our Tampa Bay Community On
May 27th, 2020
Since temporarily closing on March 16th, MOSI has provided our community dynamic remote learning content with daily programs like Virtual MOSI. Then, at the request of Hillsborough County leadership, we created copingwithcoronavirus.org to educate our community. Our Blank Canvas video art series has been a one of a kind educational content piece showing how art and science work together inspiring innovation and creativity. Even with our doors temporarily closed because of COVID-19, MOSI continued to deliver our Mission and Vision as a resource for our Tampa Bay Community.

On May 27th, MOSI will again open its doors as the intersection of science, technology and innovation in the Tampa Bay region where conversations and learning happen, knowledge is exchanged and new ideas are celebrated.

You can read our entire opening plan by clicking the "See Our Plan Here" button below. Here are some quick points of interest.

  • All guest facing MOSI staff will be required to wear face masks
  • Entry / Exit doors to the venue will be propped open to avoid an “every guest touch point”
  • All staff members will have temperatures taken. Staff with a temperature over 100.4 degrees will be sent home immediately and not permitted back to work without (2) negative COVID-19 tests
  • 50% indoor attendance capacity – Does not include open air Science Park
Summer Science Camps Start On June 1st, 2020
MOSI’s Summer Science Camps bring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) alive through hands-on experiments and building projects.

From building robots and extracting DNA to launching rockets, we are about creating the experiences that expand interests and make dreams a reality. Doing real science with the tools and technologies used by industry professionals is just one way MOSI Summer Science Camps inspire our campers with a can-do attitude that can last a lifetime.

Real science coupled with exciting experiments, simulations, explorations, and inventions will help you discover the innovator within.

Summer Exhibit - Space For Art - Opens June 2020
Space ~ Art ~ Healing
Our 2020 Summer exhibit is a partnership with the Space For Art Foundation and Astronaut Nicole Stott. The Space For Art mission is to use large-scale community art projects to inspire and unite children in hospitals, refugee centers, and schools around the world with each other and our interdisciplinary team of art, aerospace, astronaut, and health professionals.

These projects focus on the awe and wonder of space exploration and the connection between personal and planetary health; and raise awareness of our role as crew members, not just passengers, on Spaceship Earth.

Join us this June for art and inspiration from the men and women of space programs from around the world as well as other STEM related fields.
