These tips and tricks will ensure you have a smooth move in day.
- As you pack your belongings, you should only bring the necessities. Overpacking or bringing unnecessary items could make for a more stressful move-in experience as well as additional trips to your vehicle. To help with your packing process, refer to the New Student Checklists.
- You do not need your heavy winter items yet! This will take up unnecessary space in your bags and vehicle. Pack for warm weather (through September) and crisp, cool weather (October-November) is best, and bring your necessary winter items after the Thanksgiving break.
- You should plan to put as many items into a move-in bin as possible at the residence hall. The fewer trips up to your room, the better.
- Be patient. New Student Move-In is a multi-step process, and you should arrive to campus expecting to encounter some traffic and lines to the residence hall.
We do the best we can to ensure you have the best experience arriving to campus, and we are so excited to welcome you to your new home!
