The History of St. Valentines

This Valentine's, we think of the ones we love; our significant other, children, family members, and close friends who have a special place in our hearts. For Meals on Wheels Arizona White Mountains it's our VOLUNTEERS!

Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization. It is with them we are able to serve our clients and connect with our community to address hunger and social isolation. Our volunteer drivers become a friend and advocate for our clients when family and friends are far away. Our kitchen volunteers assist our staff in preparing and serving 200 – 400 (and sometimes more) meals daily. Those who volunteer to help us with our administrative duties assist our front office, so they can connect with each of our client's individual needs. Our volunteers are not only essential; they are PRICELESS!

In February our site council will have its first scheduled meeting. Site council members were selected from our Staff, the City of Show Low Recreations Department, Center Members, Clients, and Community Members. This board intends to collaborate in building our activities, events, programs, services, and resources at the Turn of the Card Community Center (Show Low Senior Center). With any new council, it will take time to get up and to run. We appreciate your patience and are excited about what this collaboration will bring!

JUST AROUND THE CORNER...

MOWAZWM is partnering with Pats Place to bring Pats Famous Corn Beef, Cabbage, and Carrots with Soda Bread back this St. Pattys Day!

The ticket will go on sale on March 1, 2023.

The work we do at Meals on Wheels would not be possible without support from our community. Please consider our nonprofit for your 2022 Arizona Tax Credit.
