As you may have seen on local news reports, Bay Area county school districts will be announcing the extension of school closures until May 1. Public, parochial, and independent schools are all expected to make a similar, unified decision to align mitigation efforts for the protection and well-being of our communities. This decision is being made in collaboration with Public Health Officers across the Bay Area.
Marin Primary & Middle School has been partnering closely with the Marin County Office of Education and the Marin County Department Health and Human Services and will be extending our school campus closure through May 1.
We understand the challenges posed by these unusual circumstances and appreciate your support as our distance learning model continues to evolve. We will be sharing a brief survey with you to collect your feedback about your child’s experience. Meanwhile, please reach out to your division directors or to me if you have any questions. We are all here to support each other during this time.
MCOE and other Bay Area counties will continue to closely monitor the data that informs these closures in order to determine when schools are safe for children to return to campus. While a formal statement from MCOE regarding this extension for independent schools has not yet been released, we are expecting to receive that within the next day or so and will share it with you by email and on our website.
On behalf of all of us at MP&MS, I send you best wishes for continued good health and safety during this time.
