Making A Meaningful Impact

First and foremost, thank you for the incredible generosity and support you have shown through your donations and volunteering during the first week of the Do Right Helping Hands Food Drive! The response from our community has been truly inspiring, and our partner organizations are deeply grateful for your efforts. We are hopeful and excited to keep this momentum going in the weeks ahead.

This is an ongoing initiative, with donations being distributed weekly to four partner organizations: two local public schools, a medical clinic, and Open Cupboard. The Parents Association will continue to share an updated weekly list of donation needs, and we kindly ask that donations stay within the guidelines of that list to ensure we are meeting the most pressing needs. Together, we are making a meaningful impact. Thank you for being such an amazing community!

Involving the Students

We are thrilled to see our Middle and Upper School students jumping in to help by transporting donations from Doors 1 and 7 and sorting items in the Atrium! In the coming weeks, Middle School students will also have the chance to assemble to-go “snack bags” during Flex, making an even greater impact. We’re excited to be working on a similar plan for the Lower School, so please stay tuned for upcoming parent volunteer opportunities. We can’t wait to get the whole community involved!

Updated Donation & Volunteer Needs

Parents Association Board Role Highlight: Communications Lead

Looking to bring your savvy communication skills and creativity a bit more behind the scenes? Work with the incredible Parent Association Board and MPA communications office as lead architect of our monthly Parent Press, weekly Panther Post, and various promotional materials. It is helpful to have familiarity with Google Docs, but this is not required.

Kate Jacobson, our current communications lead, will meet with you over the summer and be available to consult during the 2026-27 school year, as needed.

In the January edition of the Parent Press, we posted about the communications lead, in addition to the staff appreciation leads, volunteer coordinator, and Upper School division lead positions opening on the Parent Association Board for the 2026-27 school year. Please learn about all roles and indicate your interest through the form below!

If you would like more in-depth information about these positions and/or are interested in joining the board, please email Jasmin Stees at jasminstees@yahoo.com and Laura Nicholson at laurahnicholson@gmail.com

Save The Date For End Of The Year Parties!

As you may have read in a previous Parent Press, our goal this year was to host a whole-school end-of-year celebration. While staffing and space logistics won’t allow for one large event, the Parents Association is excited to celebrate in a different, and equally fun, way by hosting division-level parties on the last day of school.

Lower School Party

Wednesday, June 3 | 10:15 AM-12 PM

MPA playground and field

Middle School Party

Wednesday, June 3 | 12:30-2:30 PM

Urban Air in Coon Rapids

Upper School Party

Wednesday, June 3 | 10:30 AM-12:30 PM

Smash Park in Roseville

These celebrations will give each division a chance to mark the end of the year with joy, connection, and school spirit. We can’t wait to celebrate together and wrap up the year on a high note!

The MPA PA is 100% parent-led! If you want more information on how to get involved or have ideas to share, we want to hear from you. Please reach out to us at PA@moundsparkacademy.org at any time.
