Seven Brew Coffee shop green space with benches! | | |
The Seven Brew Coffee Shop is going up quickly! This is located in the Publix Shopping Center on Five Forks Trickum Rd at Killian Hill rd.
MPCA initially raised awareness of this development 2 years ago and worked with various interested parties including Gwinnett County to incorporate a small greenspace with seating based on community feedback in one of our surveys. Seven Brew even added 3 parking spots through a variance to support this addition to the site plan!
Below are concept plans of the original site and the updated site to incorporate the greenspace. One small step made towards creating a more walkable community-oriented area with a new gathering space for Mountain Park residents to enjoy!
MPCA is thankful to all those involved in making this new greenspace a reality!

| | Costco is coming to Mountain Marketplace! | | |
The former Stone Mountain Tennis Center site will become a new mixed-use development titled Mountain Marketplace! This development now has activity and is moving forward as Costco and Chick‑fil‑A have permit applications listed with Gwinnett County. The redevelopment, positioned along West Park Place Boulevard and Bermuda Dr near U.S. 78, represents roughly a $200 million dollar investment.
Costco will anchor the site with a 155,000‑square‑foot warehouse that includes a gas station, with an expected opening in late 2026. Chick‑fil‑A is slated to join the retail lineup alongside Whataburger and a future bank branch, though no permits could be found for the latter two.
Greystar is also developing 248 apartment units across six acres, titled Flats at Mountain Marketplace, with construction beginning in May 2026 and leasing projected to start in November 2027.
The project marks a major step in revitalizing the southwest Gwinnett corridor and is expected to drive new economic activity in the area.

Let's welcome Spring by beautifying our area with native trees! Is my yard a good candidate? Check out the below information! Careful site selection is crucial when planting a tree, as the location and conditions directly affect the tree’s long-term health and can help avoid future maintenance and repair costs.
Key Factors to Consider Before Planting
Sunlight, Drainage, and Soil Conditions
-
Sunlight Requirements: Trees needing full sun require at least six hours of direct sunlight daily, partial shade require at least 4 hours of direct sunlight, and, and shade requires at least 2 hours.
-
Drainage: Sloped yards may cause water retention at the bottom; consider water needs and drainage issues.
-
Soil Chemistry: Conduct a soil test to determine necessary amendments for healthy growth.
Adequate Space & Growth Planning
- Know the tree’s mature height, crown spread, and root space requirements.
- Avoid planting too close to structures, sidewalks, driveways, or utilities.
- Poor placement can lead to hazards and costly maintenance later.
Know where your utilities and septic drain field are
- Check for overhead power lines and underground utility lines before digging, including electrical, gas, water line, and fiber optic.
- Locate your water meter and main water line coming into your home.
- If you are on septic, locate your septic tank and drain field and plant well away from it
- Ensure adequate vertical and horizontal space for safe growth.
