At its June 22, 2022 meeting, the MPERS board of trustees accepted the nominations of Chief Edwin Bergeron, Jr. (Hammond) and Chief Dwayne Munch, Sr. (Westwego) for the two Chiefs District II positions. There was no need for an election, as there was only one nominee for each position.
The chiefs began their terms on July 1, 2022. Chief Bergeron will serve through June 30, 2027. Chief Munch filled the position vacated by now retired Chief Glaser and will serve through June 30, 2023.
We are happy to have Chief Munch back and look forward to working with Chief Bergeron!
