Superintendent's Message
Dear Mt. Pleasant Community,

The enrollment process has begun for the 2022-2023 academic year and our five schools are welcoming new students. Our classrooms reflect our commitment to positive and empowering educational achievement and social-emotional experiences for our students, staff and families.

By providing opportunities and resources to excel, our team of expert educators and support staff work every day for the success of our students inside and outside the classroom. In a setting that promotes diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion, MPESD extends an invitation to families to be part of our school community.

Thank you for your trust in such an enormous task: the education of a future generation of leaders.

Sincerely,

Dr. Elida MacArthur
Superintendent

August Boeger Middle School
Our students are prepared for high school and beyond!

Our mission is to present students with a safe learning environment that promotes academic success through social-emotional learning, AVID strategies, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

We are a traditional neighborhood school that strives to influence responsible students in a global society. We offer AP ELA, Accelerated Math, a variety of electives during the school day, and a variety of after-school sports. We have experienced teachers who provide multiple opportunities for students to do their best work. Home of the Bobcats!
Ida Jew Academy
Ida Jew Academy is a TK- 8th grade Certified Kindness Charter School within MPESD. Our school provides free after school childcare and extended learning opportunities, including reading intervention and library/media support.

We have an established STEAM program with a design engineering focused Maker Space Lab.

Through high-quality academic instruction and programs that nurture the whole child, we help each student maximize their potential. Ida Jew Academy also provides a Two-Way Dual Language Immersion program where students receive academic instruction in both Spanish and English with the ultimate goals of bilingualism, biliteracy (read and write in two languages), and sociocultural competences. Puma Pride!

We are a diverse and dedicated community of lifelong learners. The vision of Mount Pleasant Elementary is to be a high-achieving school and set students on the path to university.

We offer a strong Student Leadership Program where our students partake in various empowering opportunities.

Why STEAM? STEAM is an integrative approach to teaching science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Mount Pleasant is proud to offer many enrichment opportunities during the school day and after school, such as music, art, coding, dance, and many other options after school.
Robert Sanders Elementary
We are a TK-5th Grade AVID Elementary school site (Advancement Via Individual Determination). Our mission is to create an atmosphere of continuous social and academic growth where personal responsibility, respect, and perseverance are encouraged.

Students learn in a safe, supportive, and motivating environment. Our extra-curricular activities (including MPAS sports) include the mentor program with the SJSU football players, the SJ Children's Musical Theater, College Week, family nights, and many more; these activities are popular with our generational families.

At Robert Sanders, we prepare our students with essential College and Career Readiness skills.
Valle Vista Elementary
We are an innovative community! At Valle Vista Elementary, we are committed to developing lifelong learners who strive to reach their personal best in a diverse and changing world.

We assist our students in achieving excellence inside and outside the classroom. Our focus is on VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts); we began developing our program before the pandemic and will continue developing and implementing the VAPA program next school year.

We value the collaboration and dedication of our school community, working together to advance students' creativity, academic achievement, and students social and emotional well-being.
