This two-part series aims to provide information and resources for how to improve equitable health care and health promotion services with people with disabilities. With local disability advocates as co-presenters, the discussion will explore 1) barriers to health care and chronic disease prevention among people with disabilities, 2) how to capture disability status and use that information to identify needed supports in patient-centered planning, 3) how to plan for accessibility assessments and implement program and policy solutions that lead to improved accessibility of your health care facility, and 4) where to find resources of local disability organizations and accessibility tools.

Technical Assistance Center

With the official launch of the UM-TAC program on October 1st, we are proud to begin serving as the primary technical assistance providers for prevention specialists across Montana. We are looking forward to sharing the incredible work being done by the prevention specialists in building healthier communities throughout the state.

As we prepare to roll out our Connected Communities membership, we are excited to offer a new platform where prevention specialists can connect not only with each other, but also with local health departments and providers to strengthen collaboration and advance public health efforts.

If you are a Connected Communities member, please keep an eye out for our “Advancing Misuse Prevention in Montana” community, where you will find opportunities to engage, share resources, and collaborate on impactful initiatives.

If you are not a member but you are interested in supporting or joining substance misuse prevention efforts, please reach out to Kristen Cram or Maria Hamm. We would love to connect!

Wellness

Well on the Way - Montana's workplace wellness roadmap

In Montana, long drives are how we live and connect. Workplace wellbeing is similar - not a quick fix, but a steady trip with scenic views and timely refuels. Well on the Way uses that road-trip metaphor to make culture change clear, doable, and a little more fun. Become a Wellness Navigator and travel at a pace that fits your team.

Public Health in the Schools Initiative

MFPE Educators Conference

Our team was excited to attend the MFPE Educators Conference in October, where we connected with teachers who share our enthusiasm for this initiative. Together, we explored the curriculum, discussed barriers and challenges to implementation, and generated ideas for next steps. We're so grateful for the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with educators across the state!

TRAIN Montana

We are in the final steps of converting our curriculum to TRAIN Montana.
