Meeting is back en vogue. Granted, it's still a slow climb to the budgets of yesteryear, but we're getting there and our destinations are primed to benefit. From grand openings to re-openings...from new venues to expanded venues...we are ready for the masses to roll in.

 Our industry is evolving...so are our destinations, our employers and our Chapter. Internationally, MPI announced a new CEO and partnered with HSMAI this year. Brian Calvert, CMP took the reins as Executive Director of our Chapter from Nick Vaccaro and is doing SUCH a fabulous and humorous job of it. And in just days, our brave and enterprising leaders will take a step back to allow fresh faces and renewed focus take center stage as your new Board of Directors.

It's impossible for this bunch to slip away quietly, however, and if you'll humor me I wish to make a toast:   

Cheers to Katie Rogers, CMP who executes when she hears a great idea and calls a spade a spade.

Cheers to Janice McCallen, CMP for managing an intense travel schedule all the while not missing a beat leading the Memphis committee.

Cheers to Tracy Wray who stepped up as VP midstream, turned action items into initiatives & is a beloved leader.

Cheers to Colleen Cussick who joined the BOD mid-year bringing her va va voom and fearlessly and for reminding us that what we do is FUN.

Cheers to Adam Spivey for adding testosterone and always availing himself to take one for the team even if the results are public, self-humiliation.  

Cheers to Marilyn Johnson, CMP who ensures every sponsor takes full advantage of their partnership benefits & receives ROI.

Cheers to Susan Raque who puts on one heck of a party and has a flock of volunteers.

Cheers to Robin Jones who led the East Region like she's been doing this thing for years, all the while acting as interim "wearer of all hats" at her property.

Cheers to Tammy Gilbert Cardona, CMP who immediately proved to be a natural leader & honed in on areas to improve.

Cheers to Natalie Norris, CMP for organizing us all & being persistent about due dates.

Cheers to Brian Calvert, CMP for his sunny disposition and being up for the challenge called the BOD.

Cheers to Sheryl Baker for being a mentor to me. We all deserve a Sheryl in our lives.

And finally, cheers to Melanie Clifford, your incoming Chapter President, who should tattoo I AM MPI somewhere secretive and fun. She's going to deliver and you are just going to love your MPI community next year, so keep your hands and feet in the vehicle at all times! Here we go!!!
