Melanie Clifford President Banner Header

Melanie Clifford

It is hard to believe that is my last message as your president.  This year has gone by too quickly.

The GALA is now upon us.  Please make plans to attend.  We have some incredible items available in our auction.  You can start bidding right now.  Take a look.  You will be glad you did.

The GALA is also when we give our Circle of Excellence Awards.  This is when we honor you, our members.  As a past winner, there is nothing like it than to be honored by your peers.  The list of nominees and winners is impressive.  And we will induct your new Board of Directors.

One of things that really stood out to me over this past year is that we are family.  This is the theme for our GALA.  I have watched as you reached out those in need, provided comfort and prayers, helped those needing jobs.  Every one of you has gone above and beyond for each other and for our chapter.

I want to let everyone know that we have selected a new management company for our chapter.  Beginning July 1, Travelink will be our new management company. Lindsay Buchanan will become our new executive director.   We want to say thank you to AEC Management for their 5 years of service to our chapter.  Greg Jewell, Nick Vaccaro and Brian Calvert have been great to work with.  We will be sending out a reminder on the change and contact information the 1st of July.  Lindsay will be at the GALA.  Stop by and meet her.

Don't forget to go start bidding and register today to attend the GALA.

One final note....I encourage you to get involved.  We cannot do what we do without all of you.

Thank You MPI: Tennessee!   It has been a pleasure to be your President for the 2013-2014 year!

Melanie

This year's 2014 World Education Congress (WEC) is sure to be the best yet. World renowned spiritual guide and New York Times bestselling author Deepak Chopra MD is the keynote speaker. Almost 100 educational sessions will be available, most of which will be CIC approved toward your CMP. The Hosted Buyer program will allow you to meet face-to-face with suppliers and decision makers. All this plus the opportunity to network with MPI members from all over the world AND show them why MPI:TN is the best.

To help spread the word about WEC, MPI is challenging Chapters with a fun and rewarding program that will help your members experience MPI's premier professional development and networking events. Research has shown that members who attend WEC are more likely to remain loyal to MPI.

Four chapters with the highest Chapter membership registration percentage for attendance to WEC will win the Chapter Challenge and their choice of USD$1,000 or three registrations to WEC 2015 or EMEC 2015. There will be one winner from each of these four geographic areas: Chapters within reasonable driving distance of Minneapolis-Chicago Area, Heartland and Wisconsin (excluding the host city Chapter); Chapters in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil; Canadian Chapters; and European & Asian Chapters.

The four winning chapters will be determined by having the highest Chapter membership registration percentage for attendance to WEC based on those registered by July 18, 11:59 pm CDT. Chapter membership as of April 1 will be the baseline for calculating the percentage attendance for each Chapter.
Winning chapters will be mentioned on the WEC 2014 website and inside The Meeting Professional™ Daily published during the event, as well as onsite signage. Progress reports will be issued on a monthly basis.

MPI:TN, we can win this!!! Register now on mpiweb by clicking here. A "Convince Your Boss" tool kit is available if your boss needs a little convincing. See you at WEC14!

As the outgoing VP of Communications, I would like to say a heartfelt "THANK YOU" to all who supported the various Community Service opportunities that we offered this year. The collection of items for the deployed troops of the 251st Military Police Unit, Second Harvest, Walden's Puddle, Ronald McDonald House, and our hands on event with Nashville Cares. I know the East and West Regions did additional Community Service Projects as well, and again, we THANK YOU!

I would also like to thank my team of Jamie Hulet, Kristen Richardson, Diane Bearden-Enight and Amy Kelly...you guys are AWESOME! It's been a pleasure to work with you this past year.
