1. "I am Robin Jones and I am MPI. I love what we do."
2. When did you realize that you wanted to be in the meeting and event industry?
I got hooked on the Hospitality industry when I was 20. I started as a night auditor and fell in love with an industry that has such a wide reach. On any given day I get to speak with people from all over the country. When I was 25 I got my first taste on the meetings side of the Hospitality Industry and I can't imagine doing anything else.
3. What is your most memorable moment at a meeting or
event?
I actually attended a conference and met a guest in the elevator and struck up a conversation that led to a group coming to my property and making a lifelong friend.
4. What is the most bizarre moment you've experienced at a
meeting or event?
I got licked by a llama.
5. How did you get connected to MPI, and how has it affected
your life?
I have been a member of MPI for 6 years, but about 2 years ago I met Melanie Clifford. She opened my eyes to all that MPI has to offer and, in turn, MPI has opened many doors for me professionally and personally. I can't imagine not having this resource ever again. It connects you with the people and information you need.

Out of respect for your time, International and Chapters have collaborated to only issue one satisfaction survey to the membership. We've done this because your feedback is important and enables MPI to improve programs and services to better meet your needs. We will use your input to make adjustments, evolve and deliver greater value to you. We thank you in advance for your help, and appreciate you taking the time.

Matchmaker, Make Me a Match! MPI:TN has designated March as our Month of Mentoring! Say that five times fast. Did you know that our chapter has a fantastic mentoring program, called The Power of Two, that's available to all current members of the Tennessee Chapter of MPI? Our program matches volunteer mentors with mentees at any stage in their career who are seeking to develop new skills or make progress toward professional goals.
Do I Really Need a Mentor? Yes! In today's competitive landscape a mentoring relationship can give you an edge that differentiates you from everyone else. Wouldn't you benefit from a relationship with someone who may provide knowledge, insight, support, guidance, and open doors for you? Some of the world's most rich and famous had mentoring relationships to help them in their quest for excellence*:
*Brian Mulroney (former Prime Minister of Canada) mentor to Karl Pladeau (Quebecor CEO)
*Marc Andreessen (multi-millionaire founder of Mosaic and Netscape) mentor to Mark Zuckerberg (billionaire founder of Facebook)
*Warren Buffet (billionaire financier) mentor to Donald Graham (publisher, Washington Post) and Michael Lee-Chin (CEO, AIC)
*Bobby Orr (Hall of Fame hockey player) mentor to Dr. Robert Thirsk (astronaut, physician, engineer, scientist) *Ingmar Bergman mentor to Woody Allen
*Joe Weider mentor to Arnold Schwarzenegger
*Richard Burton mentor to Sir Anthony Hopkins
