Great news! MPI has released the results of chapters who have earned awards for the 2018-2019 year, and MPI Tennessee was named one of 25
Top Performing Chapters
! You should be proud to be part of the family of the top 1/3 of chapters in the world!
Can you believe it’s November? If your household is like mine, my kids are already playing Christmas music and writing wish lists, and it feels like life is moving at rapid speed. I hope you take time to enjoy the season and get some great networking and education in while you’re at it.
There are three more great opportunities to join our MPI Tennessee family before the end of the year. The first is
CONNECT
where we will kick off Thursday night with supplier/ planner round tables... sort of like speed dating. You’ll get the chance to sell your product and discover great suppliers you can utilize for your meetings and events. On Friday, we will hear from some incredible speakers and get top notch education while having plenty of time to network. Register now if you haven’t! Second, take a couple of hours to join us with ILEA and NACE at Second Harvest Food Bank for a
community service
opportunity and a delicious lunch at Hermitage Hotel. Lastly, we will end our successful year with a
holiday celebration
at Holston House. We hope you can make it for any and all of these great events!

35 is just a number
As we reflect on the milestone of 35 years for The MPI Foundation, we’d like to share our optimism regarding the continued impact that we see in our community, our association, and our industry.
We’ve accomplished so much this year distributing over 200 scholarships and subsidizing industry initiatives. However, an area where the Foundation has lacked financial support has been via individual member support. Candidly, since 2009 alone, The MPI Foundation has distributed over US$4.2 million to individuals, chapters, and organizations. That includes your fellow chapter members or even yourself.
Would you help us change this direction?

Congratulations to
Tina Gionis with Tina Gionis Photography as the October Rockstar! She has been an involved member, donates photography services to the chapter often, and volunteers on the Education Committee. Her involvement with the August luncheon in getting everything set up for the event is just one of the reasons she deserves this Rockstar award. This award was announced at the October Educational Luncheon.
Thank you, Tina, for all of your hard work and contributions to the events industry and MPI Tennessee Chapter!

Be an active member.
I have had a huge return on investment with my MPI Tennessee membership.
I joined MPI knowing that I had to really invest the time to see the results. I went to every meeting, joined a committee, and eventually served on the Board of Directors. Through my membership I have met so many customers (who are now friends), and they are constantly referring me to others. My advice is to be an active member. Go to the meetings, go to the networking events, go to WEC…
You never know who you are going to meet!
