It’s hard to believe just a little over a week ago, Belmont hosted the last Presidential Debate, and by the time you read this newsletter our country should have a good idea as to who our next President will be. I hope that everyone took the time to vote so your voice could be heard.
Last month was very busy for our chapter, and we are fortunate to have so many amazing partners. A huge thank you to Don Osborn and Wildhorse Saloon for hosting our Membership 101 event, and Morgan Threlkeld with the stunning Hampton Inn & Suites at Capitol View for providing such an incredible space and service for our Educational event so we could learn how “Attention Pays!” with Neen James. Finally, I cannot express how grateful we all are to the incomparable Robyn Bass for sharing her time and talents for our future leaders at Leadership Academy at the wonderful Aloft West End.
At our Educational Event we were excited to announce our next Circle of Excellence Award winners. Congratulations to Sarah Ramsden and Angela Layton for winning the President’s award, and Angie Campbell for getting selected for the Beth Calveard award! These three incredible members deserve these awards for all they do to help support MPI Tennessee.
This month, we are really looking forward to our 40th Anniversary Party on November 12 at 114 at Wildhorse Saloon so get ready to party! Thank you so much to the 40th Anniversary committee for your dedication and amazing events that you’ve created for our members throughout all of 2020.
On November 17, the chapter will be joining with other meeting associations (Heels, NACE, TWESA and ILEA) to support the Second Harvest Food Bank through financial and canned food donations at the Fall Festival. Please do everything you can to help those who need it, especially during the holidays. If you are attending the Anniversary Party, feel free to bring your canned goods as Ashleigh Cote and I will be there to collect them.
As I end this letter, I just want to let you know that I hope each and every one of you is getting the very best of me and the rest of the board this year. I feel truly blessed to lead this chapter and strive every day to make you, our members, a priority.

Until we meet again,

MPI Tennessee truly showed up and supported me during such a pivotal moment in our industry and my personal professional career. As a trial member who was in the process of studying for my CMP, I was able to access the vast resources that MPI provided. During this trial run, I was welcomed into the MPI family and knew that I wanted to dig deeper into my professional development.
Thanks to MPI’s immense generosity once becoming a full-fledged member, I was granted a scholarship to participate in Joanne Dennison’s CMP Masterclass. I cannot say enough good things about Joanne Dennison and her commitment to raising the bar and pushing the meeting and events industry forward.
Joanne’s class is without a doubt the reason I am now a Certified Meeting Professional, and I would not have had the opportunity to participate had I not been encouraged and supported by MPI Tennessee. Now that I have passed my CMP, I look forward to being an ambassador for our industry, inspiring others on their professional careers paths and discovering more avenues to continue growing. - Ruthie Rudnick, CMP
