Have you ever thought about being a leader with MPI Tennessee? Curious what that means or how it could make an impact on your personal and professional life? We would love for you to join us at our upcoming Leadership Academy! This program is built to answer these questions, and more, and to get you thinking about volunteering to be on the MPI Tennessee Board of Directors. My personal story is that being a leader and volunteer for MPI Tennessee changed my life. It allowed me to grow in my leadership skills, networking relationships, business development, and so many more ways. I can attribute a lot of my successes back to being a leader in MPI Tennessee. If you are interested but on the fence, let’s chat! I would love to hear from you, and we can talk one-on-one about what leadership could look like for you.
We have FOUR events this month where you can join MPI Tennessee. Our October educational luncheon, Membership 101, Leadership Academy, and MIX event in Memphis are all upcoming opportunities to network, meet new people, and learn something new. We hope you will join us!

October Educational Luncheon

Holiday Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown Convention Center
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
|
|
Have you ever wondered what your client was really thinking?
Do you want the highest chance of turning prospective customers into buyers?
The ability to understand the intentions, motives, and goals of those you meet with is one of the most powerful and coveted tools you can acquire in today’s business climate. Scott Rouse, a behavior analyst and body language expert, will break down the nonverbal cues you see in sales meetings and negotiations. The cues that tell you if someone agrees, disagrees, or has an alternative solution or suggestion are obvious if you know what, when, and where to look for them.
The process to break down these cues involves five steps:
- Observing Correctly
- Creating Rapport Quickly
- Decoding The Comfort/Discomfort Cues
- How to Look at Anyone Correctly
- The Audience: Truth & Deception
-
Using examples from his own experience as well as relevant case studies, Scott will explain how to use specific body language techniques and strategies to give you an advantage in sales and meeting situations. You don’t want to miss this fascinating session where you can learn more about yourself and the people you interact with!
*** Please note we are planning on doing a Supplier/Planner “Trick or Treat” during usual networking time! Don’t forget to bring your business cards and arrive early! ***

MPI - and why it works
I was asked to sponsor the live entertainment for the MPITN Gala earlier this year. We decided to create a Nashville-style house band. We came up with an award show-style band that could not only play welcome music and dancing music but also do an opening number for the program into several play on/play off cues throughout the event. Not long after the event a prominent and very experienced DMC, who’s company is a part of MPI, reached out to me and mentioned hearing about the award show-style band we created for the gala. Together we were able to create a similar style band and opening production number for one their top clients, right here in Nashville. This is to date, the largest event we have provided entertainment for here in Nashville and its all because of sponsoring the MPI Gala and the MPI Network!
