100 Year Anniversary Tile
One-of-a-kind Pewabic tiles have been created to commemorate the Centennial of the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute for Child & Family Development. A limited number of these tiles are now available for sale.

Founded in 1920 as the Merrill-Palmer Motherhood and Home Training School, the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute for Child & Family Development has been a leader in innovative research, training and community engagement for more than a century. The Institute promotes the health and well-being of infants, children and adolescents, and their families and communities in Detroit and across the nation.

This unique tile design is based on a Merrill family
coat-of-arms first used by the School in 1923 to honor the vision of its founder, Lizzie Merrill-Palmer. The motto, Vincit Qui Patitur
- “Who Endures is Victorious” -
points the Institute to its next 100 years.
Proceeds support
