Happy New Year! The field of multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs) is steadily evolving and expanding. Funding Opportunities

RFA-HD-19-023   Contraception Research Centers Program (U54 Clinical Trial Optional) - NICHD will be accepting applications to support and facilitate multidisciplinary approaches for the development of new and/or improved contraceptive methods. Contraception Development Research Projects of high program priority include non-hormonal MPT products (e.g., implants, films, transdermal) with both contraceptive and anti-infective properties. Amplify Change is accepting applications for the Strengthening Grant to support time-limited projects that seek to engage and contribute to bringing about change in one or more of its SRHR priority themes. A portion of funding may be used for organizational development and enhancing organizational effectiveness. Applications close February 5, 2019 at 17:00 GMT.
Career Opportunities
 
Physicians for Reproductive Health is seeking an Assistant Director, Public Policy to lead legislative and regulatory advocacy activities for reproductive health. Candidates with 3-5 years' experience in reproductive health policy or a related field are with strong research, writing, and public speaking skills are encouraged to apply. Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (DSW) is seeking an International Communications Officer to be based in Berlin with a start date of 1 March. Individuals in this role will develop, implement, monitor, and report projects within DSW, focusing particularly on the "State of African Women" Project. The International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP) is seeking candidates for several positions. This non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting youth to learn about and advocate for family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Visit the link for details.
Important Dates

The Microbicides Trial Network Annual Meeting will be held 10-13 February in Arlington, VA. Hotel registration ends 25 January. Visit the link for more details.

The 26th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI 2019) will be held in Seattle, WA on 4-7 March 2019. Late breaker abstracts are now open and will be accepted until 16 January.
 
The 10th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2019) will be held in Mexico City, Mexico on 21-24 July 2019. Abstract submissions will be accepted until 22 January.
 
The 17th European AIDS Conference will be held on 6-9 November 2019 in Basel, Switzerland. Abstract submission will open 15 March 2019. All accepted conference abstracts will be presented as oral or poster presentations.

The World Congress on Sexual & Reproductive Health and Family Planning  will be held 28-29 August in Dubai, UAE. Visit the link for more.
