1st Trimester Awards
First Trimester Awards will be presented after our school Mass on Wednesday, November 14. All parents are encouraged to join us! New Beta Club students will be announced as part of the Awards ceremony!

Report cards will be available online on Monday, Nov. 12, Preschool and Kindergarten report cards will go home with students on Monday. A reminder if you are more than 30 days past due on tuition, then you will not receive your child's report card.
Pies Needed
Our traditional Thanksgiving Feast will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 20. All our students will be enjoying a wonderfully traditional turkey lunch on that day. To help us with our celebration, we are in need of pumpkin and apple pies. These need to be precooked and brought to school on the 20th. If you can help us out, please contact your child's homeroom teacher and let them know. We are hoping to have 4 pies per homeroom for our feast.
5 Spots Left!

MQHR will once again host Paint and Sip on November 9th. This is an adult activity. Our very own art teacher, Ms. Romano will guide us through painting your very own Starry Night Nativity Scene. Food and beverages are included. This is a fundraiser for our technology fund.

In conjunction with the Bookfair this year, we will also be hosting Literacy Night and a Cookout (replaces our chili supper). There will be lots of fun activities. Please make plans to attend!

School Safety
The next step in our safety plan is tightening up our end of the day dismissal procedures. We have already started the process of ringing a bell at 2:45, praying and sharing afternoon announcements. This has been going really well. After the 2:45 bell, preschool students and their siblings will be dismissed to the gym for pick up.

Starting the week after Thanksgiving Break, the rest of the school dismissal will change. Students whose parents pick them up in car line will be dismissed as we identify cars in the line outside. Each family will get a new car tag with a QR code attached. We will scan the QR code as you are parked in line. The scan will send your child's name in to school, where your child's name will appear on the Smartboard in the classroom. When your child or children in your car see their name, they will come to the rotunda where they will be escorted out to your car by a teacher. Following the car line dismissal, we will dismiss walkers, then students attending after school care and then finally any family that needs to pick up in the front of school, we will call for those students to come to the rotunda to meet you.

I will continue to send more information to you on this new process. We hope to have a video prepared as well to help with the explanation. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We are in need of Volunteers. The cafeteria could really use your help. Please contact Char at to get started.

Giving Tuesday is November 27. Thank you to everyone for your generosity last year that provided a brand new playground that our children will have for many years to come. This year, monies raised on Giving Tuesday will go to purchase round cafeteria tables. Certainly not as glamorous as a playground, but very much needed. We decided on the round cafeteria to further promote more "family type" atmosphere at lunch. It will also support the cafeteria weekend use with all the meetings that go on in that space. We are encouraging a $25 or more donation from every Mary Queen Parish and School family. More information will be sent out for our Giving Tuesday campaign.
