Introducing Mrs. Wright...
While Mrs. Wright has been at Mary Queen for 5 years, you still might be asking, “Who is Mrs. Wright?” That’s because she is better known for her maiden name Ms. Smith and just recently became Mrs. Wright after getting married this summer.
“My wedding was the best day of my life,” Mrs. Wright said. “One special part of the day was that Ms. Bayma was one of my bridesmaids. We have worked together for four years, and thanks to Mary Queen, she is now one of my closest friends.”
Mrs. Wright said she was married by Deacon Bill Rood at Mary Queen and then had an outside blessing at the Marriott Griffin Gate by Deacon Larry Cranfill.
When asked her favorite memory from the wedding day, Mrs. Wright had a hard time choosing. “Can the whole day be my favorite memory?”
Mrs. Wright said it has been fun stating back to school because the students share in her excitement. “I received a note from one of my students from last year that said ‘Ms. Smith congrats on the marriage.’ They have been really sweet.”
She said her current students have had no problem calling her Mrs. Wright, although she still is getting used to it. “It has honestly been more of an adjustment for me!” Mrs. Wright said. “My current group of students have only known me as Mrs. Wright, so I have gotten used to it more and more when they call my name. I get a mix of Ms. Smith and Mrs. Wright.”
Overall, despite her new name, Mrs. Wright said her love for teaching at Mary Queen hasn’t changed. “I absolutely loved my experience in the Catholic schools growing up and I wanted to share that love with my future students when I graduated from UK.”
