Letter from the President by Charli Thyne

Standing strong for America’s future

As Republican women, we know what we fight for: freedom, family and standing up for what’s right. So it’s super important to stay strong, educate ourselves on the issues, and become involved in supporting President Trump’s amazing agenda.

Moore Republican Women is dedicated to common sense things like smaller government, defending our borders, supporting our brave law enforcement officers and the military, protecting parental rights, getting our country back on a sustainable fiscal track, ensuring voter integrity, promoting personal responsibility and electing strong candidates.

God bless President Trump, who has stopped our country’s slide into oblivion and revived our hopes and dreams. But we need to help him on all fronts – politically, culturally and spiritually.

Go to school board meetings. Help register Republican voters. Work with Carol Wheeldon to ensure integrity in our voter rolls. Support candidates with time and money. Pray for our leaders. Make your voice heard. We play a vital role in shaping America’s future.

I invite you to join us and be part of the movement to keep America free, safe and strong.

Charli

Come help MRW raise funds for the 2026 election - and have a great time doing it!

Get set for municipal elections by Pilar Page

Have you noticed? We have a lot of new people moving into Moore County - a number of them from Blue States - and the Dems here are organizing. We Republicans are their target. They have new leadership. They are demonstrating. They are running for offices. We need to make sure Moore County remains in conservative hands.

We urge you to pay attention as the municipal election season starts to gather steam in September. Offices that are up for grabs include mayors, commissioners, council members, and other leaders who will have an impact on everyday life in our local communities - think taxes, zoning, roads and construction projects. Here are the candidates who have registered to run.

The Moore County GOP, MRW and the MC Republican Men's Club cannot endorse when two or more Republicans are vying for the same office. However, we WILL provide you with information about the candidates, including sample ballots and some opportunities to hear from them. We always let you know who's who in the "non-partisan" categories - and even who's a Republican and who's a Democrat disguised as a Republican.

Let's make sure our local leaders are conservatives who will do right by our Moore County communities!

Just about everyone knows someone who has been affected by Alzheimer's disease. The Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place in Moore County on September 13 - and Moore Republican Women has a team! We invite you to walk with us and be part of the effort to eradicate this dreadful disease.

It's a one-mile walk starting at Sandhills Community College (3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13. Wear patriotic clothes and come ready to have fun together!

Invite friends and family to join MRW!

If you know anyone who would like to become a member or associate of MRW, please invite them to join us! MRW is a powerful force in electing Republicans in local, state and nationwide elections - and we're dedicated to supporting the America First agenda.

A good first step is to invite them to one of our luncheons!

MRW Sock Hop a summertime success!

MRW held its Sock Hop Fun-raiser on July 19 - and it was a blast! We raised a nice amount for our coffers, helping us to go into 2026 with funds for our GOTV and election efforts. Below are the acts which performed (lip-synched, danced and acted) to some great "oldies but goodies:"

The popular winners were the "Dolly Dots" (Laura Morgan, Pauline Bruno and Kathy Beddow) with their uproarious comedy routine set to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."

The Ladies of MRW (L-R: Pilar Page, Kathy Beddow, Wanda Little, Pauline Bruno, Joy Grant, Beverly Harper, Laura Morgan and Charli Thyne ) came in second with their rendition of "Sugar Sugar."

Connie Conway and her delightful young vocal student, Jackie Shelton, sang "Doll on the Music Box/Truly Scrumptious" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. They came in third in the contest.

Lou Ellen and Bruce Runyan did a hilarious cheerleading routine set to "One Fine Day.""

Steve Woodward belted out "Unchained Melody" with Elvie and Hector Luna performing a romantic dance behind him.

Charli and Jim Thyne sang "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" - the Elton John and Kike Dee version.

Pauline Bruno and Bill Demastus sang "Let the Good Times Roll" with accompaniment of dancers Anna and Jim Vigilis and trumpeter Jeff Morgan.

The "pièce de résistance" was Miriam and Dr. Willie Chu and their family members, featuring fabulous dinosaurs dominating the stage as they all danced to "Walk the Dinosaur" by Queen Latifah.

Congratulations to all, and many thanks to all who made the event happen, as well as all who attended and donated so generously!
