Letter from the President by Charli Thyne

America wins! So proud! So grateful!
Hoping that your Thanksgiving was a time of family harmony, peace and love. Sadly, sometimes that isn’t the case, especially when family members and friends hold honest disagreements on election results. However, we can rejoice knowing that God is ultimately in control! As Republicans, we have truly been blessed with the outcome of the presidential election. Now it is time to pray for President Trump and his cabinet appointees, as they will surely endure contentious debate and controversy.
I am truly proud of everyone involved with the Moore County GOP and all the tireless efforts to get out the vote and to get conservative candidates elected. Unfortunately, we did come up short at the state level and somewhat at the local level, but that will not deter us from our pledge to fight, fight, fight! I pray that we will stand boldly for truth in public discourse, that we will stand firm for protecting life, for biblical marriage and for children’s innocence.
As we look forward to this blessed and holy season when we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ, I wish you and yours goodwill, health, kindness, favor, peace, grace and love!
Merry Christmas!
Charli

Collection: "Rescue Christmas" toys for military families
Every Christmas, we donate toys to military and veteran families based in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville. These are low-income families who truly need help to make the holidays great for their kids.
We encourage you to purchase UNWRAPPED toys, gift cards from department or grocery stores, and monetary donations. Bring them to the GOP Headquarters (211 Central Park Avenue in the Olmsted Village Shopping Center). Hours are 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. (The HQ is not open on Saturdays now that the election is over). If you're writing a check, make it out to "Military Missions in Action" and put "Rescue Christmas" on the memo line.
Deadline to bring gifts: December 10, 2024

Highlights from November luncheon
The November lunch took place the day after President Trump's glorious win - so we celebrated with cheers, prayers and song. In addition, we welcomed these speakers:
Ronnie Fields, Moore County Sheriff. He warned us about an uptick in the instances of fraud directed at elderly citizens in our area. His tips:
- Don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the number.
- Don't believe any request for money or offers of refunds
- Be careful of online shopping - go to trusted retailers, etc.
| | |
Kay Wildt, President of the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women. Kay thanked everyone for all their hard work on the election, especially the My Faith Votes effort, which contacted 143,605 registered Republicans who are Christians.
She also admonished us to "Be Brave," following Trump's example. Don't be afraid to speak out against woke ideology and speak up with the truth against the Left. Get OUR message out in a strong way, and support conservatives.
| | |
Rick Herrera, with his wife Susan (not pictured), encouraged us to attend the Southern Pines Veterans Day Parade and support our troops, honor veterans and strengthen our community. He is pictured here with his dog, a specially trained pooch from Homefront Canines, which is gifted to special operations warriors.
We added to the happy spirit with a special "greeter" - President Trump! The whole spirit of the event was happy, relieved and celebratory!
Also, many thanks to all who participated in our book drive at the November luncheon. We received 15 wonderful children's books and a total of $220 in cash and check donations. We will be purchasing books and distributing them at the Moore Choice School Expo in January.
