Farewell letter from the President by Charlie Thyne

Dear Patriots:

As I close out my two years as President of Moore Republican Women, my heart is full. Serving this incredible group has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I truly admire the strong, dedicated women and supportive men who make MRW a leading organization throughout North Carolina. You always show up, give generously and care deeply about electing conservative Republicans and saving America.

Together, we have shared challenges, victories, laughter and purpose. The triumph of (re-)electing President Trump in 2024 was a high point in all our lives. Your commitment and energy in helping accomplish this have been an inspiration.

Thank you for trusting me with this role and for allowing me to lead a club that is truly exceptional. I am grateful for every encouraging word, every helping hand, and every moment spent working side by side. I step aside with pride in what we’ve accomplished and excitement for what lies ahead under our great new Executive Board.

Serving you has been a joy I will always treasure.

Charli

Important political dates

Following are key dates for the 2026 primary elections:

  • December 1, 2025 Candidate Filing Period (2026 Primary)
  • December 16, 2025 Withdrawal of Candidacy Deadline (2026 Primary)
  • December 19, 2025 Close of Candidate Filing Period (2026 Primary)
  • March 3, 2026 Primary Election

Please note that MRW does not endorse in a primary when more than one Republican is running for the same office. We will be doing our part to bring the candidates before you so you can decide who gets your vote.

Help people in long-term care facilities to vote!

The Moore County Board of Elections (BOE) is seeking help with the Multi-Partisan Assistance Team in the weeks leading up to Election Day. This service helps those in long-term care facilities who are unable to otherwise get out and vote. MAT goes to assisted living and skilled nursing facilities and helps residents with the entire process, from registering to vote, requesting an absentee ballot, and voting/returning absentee ballots.

Non-partisan teams of volunteers include a Republican, a Democrat and an Unaffiliated. Let's make sure there are enough Republicans who participate!

BOE Training is scheduled for December 15 and 17. Other arrangements are possible. MAT visits will occur January 5 through February 13, 2026.

What's new at MRW?

Nuts, nuts, nuts!

We are selling holiday nuts once again at our December 16 brunch. Be sure to purchase yours - they make great holiday, hostess and housewarming gifts!

This is an annual fundraiser for MRW - thanks for your support!

It's not too late to purchase your wreath(s)!

Deadline is MIDNIGHT, December 1!

We urge you to join us in providing wreaths to be laid on the graves of veterans Seven Lakes Cemetery during the holidays. It's a lovely way to show how much we honor those who have served our country.

They cost $17 each. If you need instructions on how to order online, read this.

And if you're interested in helping to lay the wreaths, the opening ceremony is at 10:00 am at the Seven Lakes Cemetery (340 McDougall Drive, Seven Lakes, NC). The wreaths will be put on the gravestones after the ceremony.

Join MRW's Conservative Cook Book Club!

We're starting a new book club for MRW members and associates. What makes it different?

You won’t have to purchase a book - you’ll use your own cookbooks as a resource. You will read, learn, cook, enjoy MRW camaraderie, and most importantly, have fun!

You will participate in creating an MRW Conservative Cookbook at the end of the year that we will sell to create funds to help MRW promote conservative candidates. Culinary Arts is about creativity. Let’s put our chef hats on and together start creating!
