June 2025 - Second edition

Our work is not done

The euphoria we felt when President Trump won so triumphantly on November 5th was heady and wonderful. But we're finding out (again) that battles may be won, but the war between Left and Right will never be over.

Case in point: Even after hearing logical, fact-filled and impassioned pleas from numerous Moore County residents and parents, the Moore County School Board nevertheless voted NO on retaining the book report requirement established by the conservative majority of Board members in 2023. In the 2024 November election, we unfortunately lost two strong conservatives on the Board - and a third conservative decided to vote with the liberals on this issue. A loss for our students and their success.

Even more, the lawfare against President' Trump's agenda continues to slow down progress in restoring America to greatness. The Dems are once again resorting to violence and obstruction of all types (see below for info on what our luncheon speaker talked about).

So our work is not done. In 2026, we have to ensure President Trump keeps both houses of Congress. And we have to ensure our School Board once again tilts strongly conservative on behalf of our children's education.

MRW is dedicated to doing what we can to continuously win these battles! Encourage your friends and family to join us for the important days ahead.

Alert: Next luncheon is in September

Please note that there will be no luncheons in July or August. Our next luncheon is September 3, 2025. We DO have some other events over the summer (see below) - so we'll see you there!

Highlights of June luncheon

It was both a fun and a serious time at our June Luncheon. As we celebrated Flag Day and President Trump's birthday (both on June 14), many members wore red/white/blue outfits and delightful fascinators. It's always great to see friends and meet new people who share our values and concerns. Below is a short synopsis of our speaker's remarks as well as some photos of patriotic celebrators.

Guest speaker: A.P Dillon

How appropriate that, on the same day that the Left was violently "protesting" the removal of illegal immigrants all across the country (most notably in Los Angeles), our speaker focused on WHO is doing this.

A.P. Dillon, star investigative reporter for the North State Journal, shared her insights into the network of nefarious organizations funding, planning and executing the so-called "grassroots" protests against ICE and President Trump in multiple locations throughout America. Some of these organizations are very active in North Carolina, and she warned that one of them, "No Kings," will be demonstrating in Southern Pines on Flag Day, June 14, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

It was a fascinating and disturbing look into the underside of our society that is focused on stopping the MAGA agenda and dividing Americans. For more from her, subscribe to her Substack articles here.

A surprise speaker was Don Brown, who has announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate in 2026. He will be primarying Thom Tillis. Find out more about him here. He's pictured with Nancy Manley, who invited him as her guest.

Fundraising results at luncheon

We always appreciate everyone who "shops" at our luncheons to help us raise funds. Here's what we raised at the June luncheon:

  • Basket Raffle - $200. The patriotic gift basket was won by Gwynne Wilschek. Thanks to Karen Manning for selling tickets.
  • Split the Pot - $120. Patty Breslin won $60. Thanks to Caroline Kelly for selling tickets.
  • Jewelry Sales - $86. You always need more patriotic jewelry!

NC GOP Convention

Over the weekend of June 5-8 in Greensboro, the NC GOP held its annual convention. With more than 1,600 delegates from across North Carolina attending the convention, President Trump-backed NC GOP Chairman Jason Simmons was reelected. In addition, we congratulate Vice Chairwoman Gay Dillard on her election, and our own Emily Stack on her re-election as President of the NC Federation of Young Republicans.

A number of people from the Moore County GOP attended this important event to hear speakers including Glenn Youngkin, Governor of Virginia; Linda McMahon, Secretary of Education; Bernie Moreno, Representative from Ohio; Jason Miller, former advisor to President Trump; Michael Whatley, Chairman of the RNC; and Ralph Reed, founder and chairman of Faith and Freedom Coalition.

Get more details here.

Jason Simmons, who spoke to our members at the April luncheon, was re-elected Chairman of the NC GOP.

Kay Wildt with Michael Whatley, RNC Chairman.
