Letter from the President by Charli Thyne

Dear Fellow Patriots:
As we gather this November, Moore Republican Women pause to reflect with grateful hearts.
Thanksgiving reminds us of the countless blessings we enjoy as Americans - our freedom, our faith and the strength of our great nation. We are especially thankful for the leadership and vision of President Donald J. Trump. His achievements around the world have restored America’s respect on the global stage, strengthened our economy, and renewed pride in our country. His unwavering commitment to putting America First continues to inspire patriots everywhere.
We are also deeply thankful for the life and legacy of Bill Demastus, a devoted supporter of Moore Republican Women and a true friend to all who knew him. Bill’s dedication to our club, his faith, his generosity and his love for his wife Alice and family exemplify the best of American values. His steadfast patriotism and service to both his community and church leave a lasting mark on our hearts.
As we enter this season of gratitude, let us honor Bill’s example by continuing to serve with purpose, stand firm in truth, and give thanks for this exceptional nation we are blessed to call home.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Charli

MRW is a huge supporter of our military - and we will thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice in a number of ways:
- Saturday, November 8: We will present a memorial wreath at the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Veterans Monument in Carthage. 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm - Free (address: 1020 Carriage Oaks Drive Carthage NC)
- Saturday, November 8: Southern Pines Veterans Day Parade 10 am - 12 pm. The MC GOP will have a float, and if you'd like to walk along, line up at 9:30. Veterans in uniform are invited to ride the float - contact Annette Miller (after November 3) for the line-up number. A festival continues after the parade.
- Saturday, November 8: MC GOP will have a float in the Seven Lakes Veterans Day Parade, 2:00 p.m. The parade comes down Seven Lakes Drive to McDougall Drive, Grant Street and back. People are welcome to walk at the front of the parade (not between vehicles/floats).
-
Sunday, November 9: Field of Honor ceremony, 2:00 pm, in the field behind the West End Fire Station on Hwy 211. Over the years, MRW has purchased a number of flags that will be flown for a week in West End - it's a beautiful sight, be sure to drive by and see it!

Our MRW Brunch is November 19
This is an unusual date, so make sure you mark your calendar! The reason it's so late in the month is because when we decided to move to Pinehurst Country Club, its November and December calendars had already blocked out our traditional first Wednesdays of the month. So we grabbed the dates we could.
Put it on your calendar - and look for your invitation next week!

Wreaths Across America
Moore Republican Women strongly supports the military in so many ways - and Wreaths Across America is one of them. Every year, our members purchase wreaths to place on the graves of veterans in local cemeteries during the holidays.
We are sponsoring wreaths for the Seven Lakes Cemetery. They cost $17 each.
New this year: You have the opportunity to remember a family member
who served or is currently serving.
If you need instructions on how to order online, read this.
We encourage you to support this wonderful tribute to veterans who sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms.

We're doing something different this year!
One of MRW's traditional fundraisers is the sale of nuts for holiday gifts. Unfortunately, our supplier has discontinued the sale of nuts - and we have not been able to find an alternative supplier that earns us any profit.
SO: This year, we're doing something different! We will be purchasing the following nuts:
- Roasted and salted cashews
- Milk chocolate-covered pecans
- Milk chocolate pecan clusters
- Large pecan halves
You can purchase them at both the November and December lunch/brunch meetings. Please help us raise funds while treating friends, family members and YOURSELF to high-quality, delicious goodies!
