Student Council Class Representatives
On Friday morning, middle school homeroom classes met to elect their student council representatives. Congratulations to the following homeroom reps:

6th Grade: Peter Britton & Sophia Mauro
7th Grade: Nathan Marx & Catalina O'Connor
8th Grade: Charlotte Dreany & Miriam Doyle

Mrs. Miller and I look forward to meeting with our student council tomorrow during lunch as we begin to plan activities for the year.

Below is the link to a Youtube video in which I discuss how impressed I am with our students and the many lessons I learned in running for student council representative...a very long time ago.

HCA Students Earn All County Chorus Honors
Our students represented HCA extremely well at All-County auditions last week. The following students auditioned:

Clark Hughes - 6th Grade
McKenna Withers - 8th Grade
Matthew Stoeter - 8th Grade
Giancarlo Santiago - 8th Grade
Molly Puckett - 8th Grade
Maya LaPietra - 8th Grade

We're so proud of all of them for auditioning. They had to audition with both a prepared piece and a sight-reading sample. They practiced, were prepared, and presented themselves with poise.

Five out of our six students qualified for All County Chorus!

Of special note, Giancarlo tied for first place out of ten basses, Matthew scored a three way tie for second place out of twenty six tenors, and Molly came in first place out of thirty nine first sopranos!

We're so proud of them and excited to share this exciting news with our HCA Families!
Thank You
I appreciate the support of HCA families with our enforcement of the dress code (never the most popular thing in any school community). I allowed a month for families to adjust to the rule on dress shoes being enforced as it was written. I saw many students in new, dress code friendly shoes today. Many thanks!
