Hello Colt Families,
This Thursday is the final day of the 2nd marking period and 1st semester. We encourage all students to finish the semester strong! Grades will be finalized by approximately end of day on Friday, Jan. 14.
Please be reminded that students have a half-day of school on Thursday, Jan. 13 with an 11:00 am dismissal time.
Please read below for important information:
Website
Finalsite has notified the District that all of its websites have been restored, so you should now be able to access all of the pages on our cvsd.net site. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact publicrelations@cvsd.net.
COVID-19 Symptoms/Exposure Notification Form
Please use this form to notify the District that your student has been exposed, has symptoms, or has tested positive for COVID-19. Rather than emailing various staff members, completing this form will allow us to streamline communication directly to the school nurse and be more efficient in our response. All submissions are confidential. For your convenience, this form is also available on the District website under "one clicks" and on the COVID-19 page.
The ACHD has updated its isolation/quarantine guidelines and has worked to develop this very useful app that assists in determining whether or not one should quarantine and for how long.
Remote Learning Guide
As we enter the winter season, we may have to shift to remote learning and want to ensure that everyone is prepared for the structure. Click here for a REMOTE LEARNING GUIDE.
Battle Of The Books
The Battle is during the school day on Thursday, March 22nd at 1:00 PM in the library. Ms. Benis will be having an informational meeting regarding the Battle on Tuesday, Jan. 11th during 10th period in the library but any student can sign up with her at any time regardless of whether they have a team or not. Teams only need to be 2-3 students. All grades are invited! Students just need to read the books to prepare.
Arrival time/ Drop-off
Students must arrive at school by 7:50 am in order to be considered on time. Unexcused tardy arrivals in excess of three occasions will result in the assignment of lunch detention. As we move into the colder winter months, please be reminded that drop-off begins at 7:35, and students are not permitted in the building until that time.
Chromebook Use
Please encourage your student to treat the school-issued Chromebook as their own. We have noticed an increased amount of abuse to these devices and as such, staff will be carefully monitoring and reporting any abusive treatment. Chartiers Valley has the right to charge for any incidents found to be outside of normal wear and tear and/or intentional.
Yearbook Photos
Don't forget to share your dance, sports, and any kinds of photos with our Middle School Yearbook! We consider any submitted photos for the yearbook! Photos can be submitted through these forms:
Also note that the cost of yearbooks increases as we move through the school year, so ordering early can save money!
