Hello Colt Families!
We are winding down for the holiday break. This week we will be having our middle school orchestra concert. Our chorus had a fantastic concert last week! We are so proud of all the students.
Morning Arrival & Drop Offs:
This is a friendly reminder that CVMS doors do not open until 7:35 a.m. for student drop-off. Please be cognizant of dropping them off earlier than 7:35 a.m. as we move into the winter months.
Parents, Please Help Us with the Discussion of Snapchat and other social media:
Parents and Guardians, please check in with your students about the usage of Snapchat and other social media apps. Students are not permitted to take pictures or videos of anyone during the school day, buses included. We have had quite a few reports about these types of incidents and want to make you aware. This would be a great discussion point with your students about the appropriate usage of these various platforms.
Important Chromebook Information
Our technology team has recently seen an increase in Chromebook incidents resulting in repairs. This is a reminder that the District's Device Policy does not cover accidental or intentional damage to the device as determined solely by the Chartiers Valley School District. Device insurance is available and can be purchased anytime during the school year. We encourage all families to buy the coverage. Just $20 a year covers accidental damage. Families can purchase device insurance at www.one2onerisk.com. All physical components of the device due to accidental damage, cracked screens, fire, lightning, liquid damage, electrical surge, or theft of the device, WITH a police report, are covered.

Winter Weather Reminder--Flexible Instruction Days
As winter approaches, we want to ensure you are prepared for winter weather. If snow, cold, or ice forces us to close the school buildings, students will switch to a Flexible Instruction Day (FID). These are asynchronous learning days, meaning you can work at your own pace. All students in grades K-12 must log in for attendance purposes through Infinite Campus. Click here for the login instructions.
Work for the day will be posted in Google Classroom (K-8) or Schoology (9-12), and teachers can help by providing correspondence during their teaching hours.
If you do not have internet access, please let your teachers know. Discounted internet service may be available; click here to learn more.
Please contact your teachers or building principals if you have questions about Flexible Instruction Days.
Let's Make it a Great Week!
