21 December 2020 | Chartiers Valley Middle School
Hello Colt Families,

Wow, it’s that time of the year where the holidays are upon us. What a year it has been! We would like to express how grateful we are of our students, families, and faculty at CVMS.

As we approach the end of the second nine weeks, many families have been considering a change of learning pathways between our hybrid +2, hybrid, or remote learning options. Changes can occur at the end of the second nine weeks, which is January 11. If you would like your child to switch pathways, please contact Dr.Welter or Mr. Knause no later than January 7 so arrangements can be made for transitions to begin on January 11, the first day of the third nine weeks. After January, the next opportunity to make changes to learning pathways will be at the end of the third nine weeks in March.

As a reminder, the district has adjusted our schedule following the holiday break. Jan. 5- 8 are now remote learning days and there will be no in-person instruction. On Monday, January 11, both hybrid and hybrid+2 in-person instruction will resume.

Our music department has been busy rehearsing and preparing holiday performances and we'd love for you to check out their incredible talent. Click the links here to view:

Thanks to grants as well as support from businesses and individual donors, CVMS was awarded complimentary access to this performance of One Christmas Carol. This performance  is adapted from Charles Dickens’ most famous work, A Christmas Carol. With one actor and over 35 distinct characters, One Christmas Carol is an intimate and spirited evening of theatre that everyone in the family will love. We hope you and your family enjoy it! As 2020 comes to an end, we want to reflect on the great things we have experienced since last March. A huge thank you to all who help make our middle school an amazing place. We are a community with many gifts and talents. Our children are filled with passion, commitment, and the willingness to make decisions that may be hard in the present times. Especially during this pandemic, our children are creative, flexible, talented, resourceful, and optimistic. They often make us laugh, always make us think, and even make us better.

We want to acknowledge the fabulous work our teachers and staff have done to get us to this point. To our families and community, thank you for your help, support, and sense of community. Have a wonderful holiday break and please be safe!

Make it a great day,

Dr. Michele Welter, Principal
Mr. Dan Knause, Assistant Principal
