Middle School
Dear Middle School Families,

Our fall MS Parent/Caregiver/Family-Teacher Conferences kick off tomorrow, October 20, and continue on Friday, October 27, and Friday, November 3.

There are no MS classes on those days.

These conferences are an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and share what you are noticing and hearing from your students—and for teachers to share what they are noticing in class. In other words, it is a time for teachers and families to both share information and learn information—and to reflect on each student in each class.
Preparing for Conferences
To get you ready for this year's conferences and help you get a deeper understanding of the work that happens every day, please review the Insider’s Guide to Middle School Courses. In this guide, you'll hear directly from your student's teachers about overall goals and objectives for each course, the work that happens throughout the year, and how to best support—and engage in—your student's learning. Reviewing the insider's guide could help determine questions and reconnect with your students' courses. This will also create more time for teachers to focus on individual student experiences rather than a course introduction. We know how important it is to leverage all touch points with families and teachers are working hard to prepare for each of their conferences.
October Conference Reminders
  • Middle School students are encouraged to attend conferences with their parents/caregivers. Please fill out this form to let us know who is attending the conference.
  • All teachers will keep track of time during conferences. Conferences last 10-12 minutes.
  • All conference times are booked through our online system. To keep things running on time, we ask that you please stick to the time you have scheduled.
  • If something comes up on your conference day, please call the front desk at 617.738.2700 as soon as possible, so we can let teachers know. We will follow up about any rescheduling needs.
  • If you have any questions about scheduling, please contact the Registrar's Office.
We know there may be some need for additional conversations that would not be appropriate for your meetings with teachers, so I am making myself available throughout the day on all three conference days. Please let me know if you plan to drop by while you are on campus or if you would like to schedule time with me on another date.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and flexibility during conferences. We know it is a very busy time for our community. We hope the experience is a good one for all.

We look forward to seeing you!
