Dr. Gina Sosinsky
It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Dr. Gina Sosinsky of the University of California, San Diego on September 3, 2015 from complications of a bone marrow transplant. She was 60.

Dr. Sosinsky's research was in gap junction structure and function and she mentored many graduate and post-doctoral researchers in this area. She was a long-time member of MSA and served the society in numerous capacities; in particular she was Biological Council Director from 2010-2012. Dr. Sosinsky received the Morton D. Maser Award for her numerous contributions to MSA in 2012.

Her husband, Dr. John Badger, and their three sons survive her. For more information, please click here .

October 14                           Microscopy Society of Northeastern Ohio (MSNO)
October 15-16                     Appalachian Regional Microscopy Society (AReMS)
October 21                         Microscopy Society of the Ohio River Valley (MSORV)
November 6                        Michigan Microscopy and Microanalysis Society (MMMS)
November 13                     Oklahoma Microscopy Society (OMS)

Check the meeting links for additional details.  Invite students & early career scientists & technologists to your LAS meetings and get them involved!

An updated list of MSA Tour Speakers has been published here . There are some new speakers, and new topics from current speakers.  Please take a look at the titles and abstracts and contact me if you are interested in inviting any of these speakers to an upcoming LAS meeting.
