- MedChi has collected resources for acquiring PPE for health care facilities that are resuming operations. Note: MedChi has done some vetting of these resources, but we urge all practices to do their own due diligence on researching their options. Some companies are providing discounts to our members but we are not receiving royalties. All companies are American-based/American-made.
- The AMA has shared a patient screening script to help practices safely and sensitively navigate the complexities of pre-screening patients before office visits.

UPCOMING VIRTUAL EVENTS
- Our President, Michele Manahan, MD, will participate in a panel discussion with Congressman John Sarbanes on Wednesday, May 20 at 1:00 pm hosted by the AARP. To listen in, call 877-229-8493; PIN = 14084.
- MedChi and Medical Business Partners are hosting a telehealth billing webinar on Thursday, May 21 at 1:00 pm. The webinar will present the most current updates for coding and billing telehealth services during COVD-19 pandemic. It will discuss current regulations, documentation requirements, best practices, and in-depth protocol by each major insurance payer in Maryland. It will also include recommendations for ways to incorporate telehealth, requirements for re-opening offices and facilities, and tips for maximizing cash flow. Most microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) procedures bypass outflow resistance residing proximally in the trabecular meshwork and inner wall of Schlemm's canal. A novel procedure combining trabeculotomy with viscodilation adds to this by also addressing distal resistance of the canal and collector channel ostia. This review examines the development and evidence for both trabeculotomy and canaloplasty separately and the combination in a single procedure.

Covid 19 has caused a tumultuous disruption to our eye care system. We may never return to the same milieu as we were in January 2020. Dr. Robin will discuss the surveyed trends of patient’s attitudes towards health care providers in addition to their beliefs regarding their return to medical care. He will offer suggestions on how to now broach patients, how to prioritize patient care, how to best organize one’s return to work and how to best disinfect the office and equipment. He will supply important resources.

An analysis and interpretation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging is critical for the diagnosis, monitoring, and evaluation of treatment response in retinal disease. This lecture will review the fundamentals of OCT interpretation and highlight the characteristic OCT features of common diseases. Basic OCT angiography interpretation will also be reviewed. Participants can earn 1 CME Credit.
