Check out this week’s standings, still holding 1st place is Christine Lewicki, holding 2nd place is Steve Bashaw and holding 3rd place is Erv Clark.

GUIDELINES FOR HOLE SAW OPERATION

Recommend that your customers always follow proper safety procedures when using power tools.

Eye, hearing and hand protection are an opportunity for an add-on sale! Here are the recommended guidelines for using hole saws:

  • Always wear eye protection.
  • The pilot drill should extend beyond the edge of the hole saw teeth by 1/8".
  • Always secure the material to be cut. If not the turning action of the hole saw will cause the work piece to spin.
  • Start the hole saw square to the work piece surface with steady feed pressure.
  • Occasionally check the mandrel’s drive pins to prevent them from vibrating out of the hole saw’s drive pin holes.
  • Follow recommended operating speed for the saw size and material.
  • Use a cutting oil (except when cutting wood or cast iron), to help clear chips and lubricate the blade.
  • When sawing in wood, finish the hole from the opposite side to prevent splintering. Use the pilot drill hole to align with the other side.

You will find hole saws in section CT2 of our catalog, along with many other useful tools.

For questions about these or other cutting tools, please contact product manager Elizabeth Adams at eladams@applied.com.
FREIGHT CHANGE UPDATES

  • As of 4.1.2022 the freight deduction level for our customers has changed. The customer is able to deduct freight on any invoice over $400.00 if paid within 30 days.
  • On all order confirmations and invoices verbiage has been changed:

** On invoices over $400.00, shipping & handling may be deducted if paid within 30 days from invoice date. Deduction must be taken at time of payment of invoice. Expedited shipping charges are not eligible for discount.**

  • MSS will honor any qualified orders prior to 4.1.2022 that are still in progress at the $300.00 freight charge. Instruct the customer to short pay their bill.

Reminder: Freight deductions are for customers that are being charged freight and are per invoice not total order value. This was changed when we changed to the new SAP system a couple years ago.
