Spotlight: Bryan Haynie
"I’ve had so many good experiences in surveying it’s hard to pick a best one to describe. I could talk about various projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on like the Central Light Rail Line where we surveyed and prepared plats for the right-of-way in the late 80’s and early 90’s." - Bryan Haynie

NSPS Update by Alan Dragoo
|
|
Some of the import issues that you should be aware of are as follows:
·
The purpose of the NSPS Foundation is to promote educational, scientific, and charitable activities in the field of surveying, mapping, and land information sciences. As a result of its support for surveyors who have suffered devastating losses due to hurricanes Michael in Florida and Georgia and Florence in the eastern U.S., the foundation coffers are in need of replenishment. The following donations have been made. $5,000 each by WI, SD, and NJ.; $2,000 by FL; and $1,000 by OK and IL.
·
The Certified Survey Technician (CST) program is alive, well, and growing. CST has a new comprehensive, one-stop
website
. A review and update of all test questions has been completed.
·
The following four motions came before the board and passed.
o
Motion 1: State DOTs Promotion of CST Program (CST)
o
Motion 2: Inquiry into ASCE Survey Standards
o
Motion 3: NSPS Dues Increase
o
Motion 4: Amendment to 100% Membership MOU
If you would like more information about any of these motions and/or their background information, please contact
me.
