The Built Environment, Climate Change, and Public Health-Designing Montana's Future
Whether in filtering wildfire smoke or COVID-19 aerosols, addressing water scarcity through water use reduction, or simply providing low-impact housing for an expanding population, engineering of built environment plays an important role in the intersection of climate change and public health issues in Montana.
This event will be a day long collection of speakers discussing exactly what the title describes, the built environment, climate change, and public health. Featured speakers will include Jayne Morrow, Cathy Whitlock, Montana Health Professions for a Healthy Climate: Rob and Lori Byron, MSU Office of Sustainability, Kevin Amende, and The Plowright Lab.
Small Business Webinar: Structuring Effective and Efficient Meetings

Wednesday Wisdom Webinar: Is Your Will Worth the Paper it’s Written On?
Montana State University Extension, Marsha Goetting, is collaborating with AARP Montana for a three-part webinar monthly estate/legacy planning series titled Wednesday Wisdom.
On April 6th, Marsha Goetting will be presenting "Is Your Will Worth the Paper it’s Written On?"

In this webinar you will learn when a written will has control over the distribution of your property after you die and when the will isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Learn the difference in leaving property to my children by, “right of representation,” versus “equally.” Discover how a separate listing of tangible personal property can assist your personal representative when distributing your emotionally laden items. Learn about a special program for Montanans that can be used by those 60 and over to write a will at no cost.

Preparing for Pesticide Applications
Cecil Tharp, MSU Extension Pesticide Education Specialist, will present, "Preparing for Pesticide Applications" from 2-3 p.m. via WebEx.
This presentation will focus on the many ways pesticide applicators can prepare to ensure an accurate and effective pesticide application.
Some factors would include: 1) calibrating spray equipment, 2) using IPM to identify a pest problem, 3) purchasing the correct pesticide, 4) timing the application to maximize effectiveness and minimize non-target issues, and 5) understanding surfactants and water quality.
The Pesticide Education Webinar Series offers one-hour presentations on pesticide and pest management related topics for applicators across the state of Montana. Each webinar is worth one private applicator credit and is free to attend.
AlChE Climate Conference
Please join us for the 3rd Annual AIChE Climate Conference, which will be held at Montana State University on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022!
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Climate Conference is a student-run and organized event at Montana State University (MSU) in Bozeman, Montana. The conference brings speakers from the MSU & Bozeman community, the State of Montana, and beyond to speak on climate change. Our goal is to provide personal experience and data-based information on climate change, its impacts in various sectors of life in Montana, and how we can help in the cause. Additionally, we aspire to facilitate an engaged and informed community dialogue surrounding climate change.
The conference is free to attend and open to the public, and will be held in-person in Inspiration Hall of Norm Asbjornson Hall at MSU on April 2nd, 2022. There will also be an online viewing option, via Zoom. Although the event is open to the public, RSVP is required. The first speaker will begin at 10 am and the conference will conclude roughly around 4 pm, with catering provided for lunch break. During the lunch break, we will be hosting a community involvement session in which local businesses, organizations, and student researchers at MSU will be present to engage with the community and share their work and visions with regard to climate change and climate activism.
