If you are going into field placement in Fall 2023, you will be getting information regarding your field application from your Field Instructor/Field Office soon - Be on the lookout for it!
Fall Break Days are 10/24 and 10/25. You will NOT have class on those days. Please make sure you are in the know regarding class assignments/expectations, and how these break days will impact the course.
If you have class and/or Instructor concerns, we encourage you to connect with the Instructor first to problem solve. If you are not able to, and/or this does not result in resolution, please let your Advisor know. We want your experience in the program to be positive as possible, and we want to help in any way that we can!
|
Spring Registration Update
Registration for the Spring 2023 semester will begin (by appointment) on 10/31. You do NOT need to set up an appointment with your Advisor – you will be assigned (by the University) an “appointment date” which is when you can register. This will be listed in your student record – student.msu.edu Remember to check your course curriculum, as well as the “current courses” list for the correct sections. Be sure to register only for sections assigned to the program option that you are in.

Message from The Director of the School
The College of Social Science is developing a DEI strategic plan this year. A large part of the planning process is engagement with the community via a climate assessment (the first part of this process is a survey). We really want to have students involved so we ensure the planning process includes their voices and experiences! Please complete the survey using the link below to support the College’s efforts!

As we have mentioned, we are sad to be saying “goodbye” to Emily Halling as the Statewide Blended Advisor. But, the good news is that she will be staying with the School of Social Work – working with the BASW students as the Student Supports Coordinator! So, you will just have to stop by the 1st floor (instead of the 2nd) to say hi to her!
Her last day in the role of SB Advisor is October 6. After that date, please reach out to Kelly (fornwalt@msu.edu) if you have Advising needs.
If you know of anyone who is interested in working in Academia, and would be a good fit for Advising, please pass along the job posting! We are excited to welcome a new member to our team soon!
