November 16, 2020

Dear Club and League Representatives:

Effective at 12:01 AM on November 18, 2020, all MSYSA affiliated training, scrimmages, games, tournaments, supplemental try-outs and in-person open houses in Michigan are suspended through December 8, 2020, per the MDHHS Emergency Order under MCL 333.2253 – Gatherings and Face Mask Order.

In addition, try-outs for MSYSA’s 2004, 2007 and 2008 Olympic Development teams (boys), initially scheduled for the end of November, will be rescheduled. New try-out dates, times and location(s) will be communicated to all registered participants when that information is available.

Based on COVID-19 conditions in Michigan, MSYSA’s insurance carrier recommends against teams traveling out of state for games/tournaments. At this time, teams that choose to travel out of state for games/tournaments, including teams in US Youth Soccer’s National League Conferences, must comply with local and state health department orders as established in the state(s) they are playing in. Teams must also comply with the applicable Return-To-Play (RTP) guidelines in other states. If traveling out of state for games/tournaments, our insurance carrier further recommends not carpooling with anyone from outside of your family household. (i.e., Each family should transport their own child.) Also, any remaining games scheduled in Michigan against teams from other states may not be played through December 8, 2020.

Please continue to monitor our website and social media platforms for updates.

Sincerely,

Thomas Faro
Executive Director
