March 26, 2021

Dear Club and League Representatives:

Thank you to those of you who were able to be on today’s Zoom call at noon. This afternoon, MSYSA posted additional information and resources about the MI SAFER SPORTS TESTING PROGRAM on our website. As MSYSA receives additional information and resources, they will be posted to our website as promptly as possible.

Should you have specific questions regarding the MDHHS testing program, please email [email protected].

As a reminder, beginning April 2, 2021, weekly testing (SARS-CoV-2), is required for all athletes ages 13 to 19 for participation in organized sports, including youth (club) soccer. As a Sports Organizer, MSYSA must know the intentions of our affiliated clubs and member organizations with respect to testing, starting April 2, 2021. Once you have carefully reviewed and considered the options currently available, please complete our online form. This form is only for clubs/member organizations who plan to participate in testing. If not completed by April 2, 2021, MSYSA will assume respective clubs/member organizations do not plan to engage with testing athletes ages 13 to 19. As such, MSYSA affiliated activities for these athletes will cease unless a new, or amended, MDHHS Emergency Order permits otherwise.

MDHHS has scheduled a webinar on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM to provide information specific to the MI Safer Sports Testing Program. MSYSA encourages our club and league representatives to make themselves available for this particular webinar. In addition, MDHHS has scheduled another ‘drop-in’ session, via Microsoft Teams, for Friday, April 2, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Again, club and league representatives are encouraged to participate.

Please continue to monitor our website and/or social media platforms for updates.

Sincerely,

Thomas Faro
Executive Director
