There is currently legislation (HB382) that allocates State Funding to the seven MT CTSO programs (FFA, DECA, HOSA, Skills, TSA, BPA, & FCCLA). This legislation passed out of the House Education Committee Unanimously, and also had strong support on the House Floor, passing 89-11. We would very much appreciate your writing to the below representatives expressing your support for CTSO funding and development.
This is the moment where we need the big guns, as this bill currently sits in House Appropriations, where 7 of the 11 no votes are members. This legislation could get killed in House Appropriations and put the expansion of CTSO funding at risk.
Interestingly enough, many of the non-supporters of this legislation come from
districts where CTSO's have a strong and impactful presence.
