We realize there is quite a bit of confusion over what this means for your business.  We have been answering questions and working to obtain as much clarification as we can.  We have included information here that may provide some additional guidance.  Please keep in mind that this crisis is constantly evolving with new information and Executive Orders coming out every other day so restrictions or their interpretations may change.  We will be sharing what we learn as it becomes available and posting it on our website. Having said that, the following information has just been received from the Governor's office:

Marinas:   As a result of our efforts to obtain further clarification for our members, the Governor's office has confirmed "There is nothing in Executive Order #107 that precludes marinas to continue operating as long as they practice social distancing recommendations".  It was also confirmed that marina customers are allowed to access their boats and are permitted to do repair/maintenance if permitted by the marina as long as individuals practice social distancing.  Again, it is imperative to ensure social distancing for anyone that accesses your facility including staff.

As most of you know, Governor's Order #107 ordered residents to stay home and ordered closure of all "non-essential" retail businesses.  There are exceptions outlined in the order that will permit certain operations to continue.  Per the order, Section 11 states that repair work can continue as this work cannot be performed via tele-work or from home.  Therefore, in addition to allowing marinas to operate so long as they follow other rules, including social distancing, repair work at marine facilities can continue as long as best efforts are made to reduce staff to the minimal number necessary and employees practice safe, social distancing.  The order does call for the closure of all brick and mortar retail businesses so this does include stores and showrooms that are open to the public with the exception of retail establishments that sell products that are deemed essential or other essential businesses.  You can continue to sell your products and services online or by phone.

Please Note:   We can not advise whether businesses should be open or closed. Each member must evaluate their own business and facilities to determine how they conduct business and/or whether they remain open.  It is important to take all necessary precautions and follow guidance to protect your staff and the public to ensure we are all doing our part to keep everyone safe.
